-- Per Dave Meltzer's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, plans are in the works for around the end of the year to merge WEC's Middleweight and Light Heavyweight fighters into the UFC, leaving WEC to focus on the Bantamweight, Featherweight, Lightweight, and Welterweight classes. I like the idea, as six weight classes is a whole lot to get matches for on TV - UFC has five, but a lot more TV time as well.
Wonder how they'd resolve the WEC titleholders, though. Paulo Filho and Anderson Silva train together and Silva's already said he'll never fight Filho. Filho would do it for the right price (read: a shitload of money).
