Lots of good matchups there! Hopefully the big 4 will at least give it a go and not field totally useless teams

The Big Four? Chelsea have always fielded basically the first team in the Carling Cup. Only Manu, Arse and Pool do it from the big four.

Burnley v Fulham - 3rd round Carling Cup

Interesting stats about this game:
These 2 teams have a long history, going back into the 1940s and in only 6 cases from 33 games has the visiting team won - the last time being 1965 when Burnley beat Fulham 2-5. Since then there have been 13 games with 1 draw and 12 home wins!

Do you think burnley can take a Premiership scalp - they seem to be just coming into form and Turf Moor can be a difficult place to win......

Burnley beat Fulham 1-0. Jay Rodriguez smoked them with a goal in the 88th minute.

After several poor performances from Brighton, and Man City bouncing around after their 6-0 win against Portsmouth, will there be another goal fest tonight or will City be resting some of their key players?

A night of upsets and, yes, Brighton did do better than Portsmouth-- what's happening over there-- who have developed an unhealthy knack of losing by at least 3 goals; QPR also did Villa.

Below is the FIRST TEAM squad against Portsmouth at the w/e.

The players in bold played against us, and the ones with an * were on the bench.

It's not like they put out a bunch of kids or trialists!!

Yet it still wasn't their best team. Brighton will be out in the next round so there is no point overhyping it.

No, but they should still have had more than enough to beat Brighton.

And Derby are wank, so I wouldn't be too sure of them beating Brighton.

Its Man City not Real Madrid.

They didn't even play the two players which have gotten them the great results this season. The rest of the team plays around them.

At the end of the day, almost every team weakens for the Carling Cup. The money involved hardly makes it worth winning for the big clubs, its just a chance for the fans to go to Wembley and the manager to give some of their young and fringe players a chance to impress and gain experience.

Even Leeds made nine changes or so and made hard work of beating Hartlepool 3-2 at home with a late goal by Andy Robinson.

Oh, ok, in that case BHA were clear favourites.

Either way I think we'll beat the winner in the next round. Brighton are poor and Derby can't defend.

Like you did against Millwall yesterday.
