Can anyone in the UK tell me if it's available there? Can you watch ESPN360 Europe too? Just wondering because I'm moving to England for a year, and was hoping I could still follow some of my teams online. Thanks.

Yeah, in the FAQ's it doesn't specify exactly which countries it works in. It says "most of western europe" among other places. I've heard conflicting reports, so I was hoping someone who lives in Britain could provide a definite answer.

There are others that know a lot more about this stuff that I do, but I think ESPN bought up the online rights for Serie A (as opposed to the TV broadcast rights, which Fox Soccer Channel has for the USA).

Yea, ESPN360 , started showing Serie A around midseason last year, and they are continuing again. They show about 4 or 5 games per weekend, definetly cover the big teams, if they are not live on FoxSoccer, ESPN360 is the place to watch em.

ESPN operates the North American Sports Network in Europe - a link to espn360 is prominently displayed on the nasn.com webpage
NASN carries US college football/bball and MLB & NHL as well as espn shows like PTI & baseball tonight. Sky Sports carries NBA,NFL & nascar. Not sure who shows MLS in Britain though.

Didn't Sky delay games at one point?
But as of right now, MLSLive.tv might be your best bet.

We get one live MLS game per week in Australia on ESPN & ESPN HD, via TVU Player you can get FSC so there is another game, you can also occasionally stream live game via some betting websites like betfair and bet365 and there is MLS.tv which is only peanuts to subscribe.

360 is showing more and more football as days go by. Today they already showed Scotland v. Norway. They are showing Wales v Lichtenstein right now, and are playing Holland v Iceland later. They've also been showing some football league matches  such as MK Dons v Carlisle.
They still show Champions League and Serie A, but they've really expanded their horizons. UEFA Cup games are even streamed now. As well as the Sheffield derby coming up in a few weeks.

Now if only people could actually access ESPN360 we'd be good.

So they do have it over here, but you have to pay for it. Its like 50 pounds for a year, 7.99 for a month. I haven't made the splurge yet.

If you go to college, chances are you can use their secure VPN. Depending on how it is set up, you can use it as a proxy to access ESPN360 since IPs originating from .edu also get access (and .mil too). I've done it at two different schools I've attended, and it works well.

Does anyone know if ESPN's European coverage of the NHL is available continent wide?

Saw this on the ESPN 360 listings for this weekend...
Football League on ESPN360.com - Derby County v Nottingham Forest
8am Eastern
Sunday
Interesting - have Setanta given ESPN the rights to this match? I notice that it's not listed anywhere in Setanta's listings, not even on delay.

I saw a listing several weeks ago of a Championship match on ESPN. I don't watch the Championship but if I remember correctly, it was the same match being broadcast on Setanta.

Setanta has sublicensed US Internet rights to the Carling Cup, Coca-Cola Championship and Football League rights to ESPN:
http://www.espnmediazone.com/press_releases/2008_10_oct/20081030_ESPNSetantaInkDealforLiveUSBroadbandCoverageofTheFootballLeagueandCarlingCupSoccer.htm
Speculation on other blogs is that Setanta wants to establish a relationship with ESPN if (or when, as some think it is inevitable) they get the rights to the Premier League so that Setanta can then sublicense matches from ESPN.
This deal, according to the article, will not preclude the matches from being shown on Setanta Sports.

So is Setanta broadband dead?
