This is to be presserved, and maintained, for the benefit of all those wishing to start another Supporters Group/Ultras Group/Hooligan Firm.
These are all of the names I can think up of and anyone and everyone who supports the Aztex now, or in the future, can use any of them. I would start my own group if I could but I have neither the resources, the time, or the connections to do so, and also I'm happy as a soldier warrior in Chanticos Army. But who knows down the line someone, a group of someones, possible myself inculded, might wont to start another group and can't think of a name. Soo here they are, as many as I can think of.
Austin Ultras 08
Abbreviated to AU08 and 08 can be changed to whatever end numbers of the year the group is founded.
West Waterloo Warriors
Abbreviated to WWW and should the home field be in the west of Austin it would be even more perfect, but it could also be used to reffer to the side of the stadium the group sits in, or what part of the city the group is from.
The Big Red Ones
Abbreviated to The BROS it would be even more perfect if the group sported red face and body paint, red flags and even communist/socialist flags, this would also be the best group to wave Che Guivarra and also their was an Army Core called "The Big Red One" so it would also be interesting if the members wore old army uniforms.
Austin Ultras 1836
Simple, and the 1836 would reffer to the Texas revolution, and the year of the cities founding.
Northend/Southend /Westend/Eastend Austin Ultras
Again, a less specific name reffering to the area the group sits in, Austin Ultras abbreviated to AU and or it can reffer to the area of the city the majority of the group is from by changing end to side.
Lone Star Delinquints
Abbreviated to LSD
Travis County Ultras
In refference to whatever county the home stadium ends up being in, or whatever county the majority of the members are from.
Central Texas Ultras
Reffering to the area of Texas the Aztex will most likely play in.
La Bateria Aztecas
Perfect for an all precussion players supporters group.
The Red And White Army
Reffering to the primary colors of the team, abbreviated to The RAW Army.
The Aztexans
A combination of Aztex and Texans.
Austin Mosh Crew
Abbreviated to AMC.

this would also be the best group to wave Che Guivarra
Along with my general thinking that Che's overrated, I think it would be more Austin Weird to have a faux Che flag, say with Miguel Gallardo's face instead.

I acctually talked to someone in Cuatros two days ago, a Math prof. by the name of virginia, who said she really liked the LSD idea and that with all of her college connections she could get at least 200 people to get up and support the Aztex, 1500 if she put in a minimum of effort, according to her that is. But she does seem to have quiet a few e-mail connections to the foreign exchange, and resident, student body soo who knows maybe she could pull it off.
One way or another, this just serves to further my point that we, as an organization, really need ta stir up the college soccer masses in Austin. And I guarrente that if we do we wil fill up a House Park sized stadia, to the gills, by the second home game.

I totally agree that college-age kids are a good audience for the team. I guess the only draw back is that, since the season is backwards (April to August/September), they'll not be able to attend many matches unless they're native Central Texans.

this is true but hey, if even a small percentage of them are residents, that small percentage will most likely be five figures or more. :(:D

I like Chantico's Army. I don't think we need to worry about more group names for the time being, but that's just me. No disrespect to your energy and spirit though, Alejo.

And even though Roma made a good point when he said "we're happy with Chanticos Army" we most likely does not include all of the closet soccer fans, the college kids, and the Aztex fans out their that don't use the internet/computer as often as we, as an ASG, do. Soo who knows just how many Aztex supporters, or would be, supporters are out their.
Side Note: I have narrowed down my personal favorites to The RAW, The BRO, LSD, AMC, and the 36ers, the short name for the Austin Ultras 1836.

Given the row down in Houston with the 1836 bit, I'd suggest we avoid it despite the fact that I think the complaints about it were ridiculous...and the fact that I like it. Good work on the rest.

Well, no bad ill intended, there are currently not too many people in Houston who are really worried about soccer, or American football for that matter. :D
That being said I change 36ers out for Elemental Red.

ATX Clubmen
Clubmen: Were bands of vigilantes during the English Civil War who tried to protect their localities against the worst excesses of the respective armies of both sides in the war. They sought to club together to prevent their wives and daughters being raped by soldiers of both sides, themselves being forcibly conscripted to fight by one side or the other, their crops and property being damaged or seized by the armies and their lives threatened or intimidated by soldiers, battle followers, looters, deserters or refugees.
Initially Clubmen gatherings came together spontaneously in response to the actions of soldiers in their localities. But as the war went on Clubmen in some areas were organised by the local gentry and local churchmen and were a force which both sides in the war had to take into account when planning a campaign and garrisoning some areas.
