We all know from time to time that Eursnobs aren't very smart nor intelligent. But this one just goes out of this world. I was attending an NCAA Women's soccer match between Stony Brook and Albany. The match was an entertaining one as Stony Brook attacked beautifully the entire match constantly winning evey 50-50 and switching fields. There were several clever backheels and nutmegs as well. They possessed the ball well. So then this guy with a British accent, who happened to be a Stony Brook student, starts shaking his head saying, "This is nothing like the Premiership.", and decided to leave. I guess he doesn't realize the difference between professonal and college level. I guess he doesn't realize this is women's soccer not men's. Lastly, Stony Brook women's soccer team most of the time is more entertaining to watch then the Stony Brook men's team.

It pissed you off so much that you had to come on here and share it with us all, obviously hoping to prove us 'Eurosnobs' a lesson in what arseholes we are. You've clearly been riled by it and you feel you have to come on here to get 'one over' on us. Clown.

If you're going to make things up, at least make it interesting.

It's the full truth. If you're going to accuse me of lying, at least make that interesting. Stony Brook is full of Eurosnobs.

You’re letting your inferiority complex show again. It seems every time someone is feeling a little insecure they come up with these great stories. Of course if you’re from NY, then it’s understandable, you are inferior…!

My family once had a Eurosnob. We kept it in an enclosure out in our garden. It was actually quite intelligent. We fed it bottled water and imported brie. The only thing it seemed to have trouble with was basic locomotion as it had its head up its ass most of the time. Also, it was difficult to tell whether it was male or female.

What do Europeans have to be snobby about? In 10 years the U.S will have the best soccer league in the world anyway.
How's yer ass doing from having that hand stuck up it?

..so was he wrong? He went to see a match and it wasn't as good as what he was used to, so he left because he wasn't enjoying it. It may strike us down a footballing heathens, but we seldom leave matches over here saying how great a game was because there were a few nutmegs and backheels during it. His real stupidity was thinking for one second that it might have been like the premiership.
The fact is there are absolutely loads of English fans who support premiership clubs, who more or less refuse to watch anything at a lower level. To them even a decent Div 1 game would be derided as being rubbish. I dare say that any avid MLS fan over in England who decided to watch a women's match over here would probably walk out for the same reason.

I keep hearing about these British accents but I have never heard one myself.

Are you trying to say that being a Eurosnob is a bad thing?

I don't see how that guy's a eurosnob, he gave your american soccer a chance that he would attend a game, didn't he? He just thought it sucked.
A real eurosnob would have already known it sucked beforehand, and wouldn't be seen near that match.

My point is that he was quite ignorant in thinking a college match would be like the pros. Note the name of the thread. Gosh these Eurosnobs on these boards can't even read correctly. Second, the guy did not give the game a chance when he left the game 15 minutes in.

Someone educated me on an old thread that a European can never be a Eurosnob.
