Just gotten in from the game. Crowd was magnificent even the away section. No barracking of any of the players.
Tremendous support for SBR.
Points of note
Every player who has been linked with the incident was picked to start which may lead to assumption that everything that has been alleged is not cut and dried.
When Shearer scored, which incidentally was a great strike, (Thru' ball from Jenas, no touch, struck first time, Niemi no chance) Dyer pointedly turned away and did not congratulate the great man, prompting Bellamy to have a word in his shell-like.
This may confirm the stories of A S's displeasure at the antics of K.D's booking of 6 rooms last week.,and subsequent fisticuffs on Monday

Dyer pointedly turned away...

You might be right.

No chants whatsoever?

Not that I heard, only the normal Saints stuff, they are normally well behaved, I think, because they are tired, as it's the longest journey they have in the course of a Season.
The Newcastle chants, sang with perhaps a bit more fervour, as if everyone wanted to get back to the football after the bad week we've had.

But was there a feeling of tension among the players? Apart from celebration part.

What re some of the chants that the Toon Army sing? What type of crowd goes to the game? Do you have season tix or no? etc...

Curious Yank.....

The allegation that fans dare not even chant
Football rape claim: Premiership clubs, police and media on high alert to prevent supporters taunting players who are suspectsThe players know who they are, the media knows who they are and, thanks to the internet, millions of members of the public know who they are.

But yesterday, despite fears that fans of the clubs involved in the Premiership rape allegations would publicly finger the suspects at the tops of their voices, football crowds showed uncharacteristic restraint.

Just to make sure, sound engineers turned down microphones to prevent obscene chanting being heard by television viewers and radio listeners. But there was no need. Football fans, armed obviously with a better working knowledge of the law of contempt of court than the editors of some of the websites and papers they read, kept any taunting of the players involved in the 17-year-old girl's claims to themselves.

As the team at the centre of the allegations took to the pitch for yesterday's game, the atmosphere around the ground was relatively subdued, even when the team names - usually greeted with a roar - were announced. Some heads were bowed. "It sounds really bad; I just really hope it's not true," said one supporter. Fans of the opposing team were just plain appalled: "Their behaviour was sickening even if it is proved the girl wasn't raped. Footballers have too much money and too much spare time. They think they are on a different level to the rest of society. They are a disgrace to the game."

Only with Dyer but I think that was also because Sven was there, and I'm sure he want's to play in Turkey next week A couple of times his head dropped and Bobby yelled at him to get his head up and get on with it.
Everyone had a good game Bowyer was made man of the match by the sponsors, and he had the best match since he came here. The only disappointment for me and the fans around me was Jenas. This Season he's swanned around flat footed, never wins any balls, has no anticipation it's a marked contrast with last year. I think he's started to believe some of the nice things people said about him and he doesn't need to put himself out anymore.
But everyone else seemed to put the offpitch problems behind them. Thank God.

I can't tell you how much the win meant.
With all the bother this week, it's like it's happened to your own family. It shames the shirt, You go from being proud to wear the shirt to thinking maybe it's soiled.
To understand why A S got so upset. It's not so much he's got two daughters, you don't have to have daughters to be disgusted by the allegations.
No he grew up in the shadow of SJP and he knows what the club meant and means to his father and his uncles and his cousins and their workmates and neighbours and to kid's that cannot afford a match ticket but look up to the players we have signed and those players whether they're involved or not., will never understand why Sir Bobby and Alan have taken the allegations so badly

I know exactly what you mean. But unfortunately some players (and not only those involved in this case) have no idea. They don't know that they represent the club, on the picth and also outside. That children look up to them. That parents take their children to the matches so they will start to love to sport. Because they want them to have idols among sportsmen and not some drug abusing singers. And then something like this happens... Players who think they are better than everybody and can do what they want... destroy the hard work of so many. I am not saying Newcastle will be destroyed by this. Rape or not, people will look on the club differently. I mean... Would you want your children to look up to the people who live such life?

How much are season tix? I assume they are hard to get? Are individual match tix available? Do you have away season tix? How does that week? And European games?

How much does it cost to be a loyal NUFC fan a year? New kits, merchandise, home season tix, away season tix, euro tix, travel, food, lodging, etc.... ?

And how do so many Brits afford this on a weekly basis?

So, the rumors I've heard are true then about our players being involved? I had hoped they were just that, rumors.

This is the number one story and not just rumours. But God only knows if it is true. God and those involved/not involved.
