So apparently this kid is a phenom and the league and other parents in the league dont want him pitching because he is too good? Coaches walking off the field in forfeit!!!
Im sorry and I hope the parents of the other teams see this!
GROW UP AND SUCK IT UP!! The Youth of America is basically being taught to GIVE UP and WALK AWAY when something is to tough to play! Man, when i played in little league I had a pitcher that was really good and I got up there and struck out with PRIDE!!
How can any parent tell there kid that they should not try to go up there and hit that they can walk away rather than lose!
Im sorry but this "There are no losers" mentality going around in Youth sports now is going to far. How can this be good for the future of the country when you are being taught at a young age, he is too good, you should not have to play them!!!!!!!!
Sorry for the vent - this just disturbs me!

The pussification of America continues. So now this kid is being punished basically because he's too good.

Yes. It says the kid never hit a single batter with a wild pitch either. The parents just wimped out for their kids.

Honestly - this is so bad - there is no shame in trying your best and not winning!! If you won in every aspect in life half of us would not be working - you hae to learn to lose in life and how to deal with it!! IT Happens - and hey - maybe your the lucky kid that hits the homer off of him!

Honestly what is the point of even joining the team if your just not going to play because a player or the other team is too good for you. They might as well just look at who has the best team on paper and declare them the champions before the season even starts, if this is how they are going to act. Absolutely pathetic.:(

I've been saying this FOR A LONG TIME. Also there are MANY lessons to be learned from losing.

Yep..I agree..BUT...if the kid is that good. Then he has to move up. I played against older kids in Roller Hockey , because I was too good for my age group.

Yea he should def consider moving up to help is own ability but it shouldn't be up to the league to tell the kid that he should play a dif position b/c the other kids cant compete.

Yea and it would actually help him if he moved up.

Lol and its not even the kids its the parents making them that way. They have to understand that it doesn't make them or their kids a failure if they aren't good at a sport. Did anyone see Jordan play baseball lol?

It ain't just the kids... now that I'm a parent, and know other parents in my overly precious brooklyn neighborhood, you realize that it's the parents doing it to them. We all know the stories, the soccer leagues where everyone gets a trophy, or the score isn't kept?!?!?
My generation of parents are turning america's kids into **************. The inner city kids living in the projects get the insanely darwinistic kill or be killed lessons from Fitty, and the inner city middle and upper class kids are taught not to compete because "we're all winners in our own way". I don't know which one is worse but it's a sure sign of an empire in decline.
China's gonna kick our ass in 20 years if we don't turn it around...

The reason for competition is that we learn from our mistakes. That's why our school system is no good, because we teach that we cant learn from making mistakes and that we need to get it right the first time.
Humans learn thru trial and error and most people after banging their heads enough times learn to do things the right way. Our school system is the complete opposite of this.
Losing also teaches you many lessons. These are lessons that children need to learn. Because if we all compete and we are all winners then at the end of the day whats the point in even trying to play. Screw that we can all play Wii or Nintendo (a disassociated piece of plastic, which takes away all real human interaction).
I've been toying with the possibility of being the soccer coach for my little girl's school. So this issue is at the very front of my mind lately. I think that if its a BS tournament with "everyone's a winner" type of mentality I'll pass. BTW if I do become the coach and when we make it to the FINALS, Ill be expecting the BB's in full regalia in support. lol lol I can only imagine the madness that would cause! lol
