Here is some of take on the issue while on the same forum some called for Marshall to be banned from the Jamaican team for life if he indeed made those statements.

After the Regime change then Jamaican football should move forward, we are losing too many talented young players in the shuffle for a population our size.

2ndly : Why would Marshall convince a DEADLY finisher NOT to play for his team?

1. Ralph is not yet cap-tied to Jamaica.

2. Allegedly, Marshall told Damani that he would have a difficult time considering Jamaica's depth at forward and the politics of the federation, i.e. their bias to choose European-based players over players such as Marshall or Griffiths, etc...

3. Worry about? Nah. But it will definitely make for an interesting qualifying run.

I wonder if Powell will see any call-ups, providing he ever plays again.

Something to worry about? Not at all, but they should score some beautiful goals. They still don't have a midfield playmaker to give their strikers decent service. Also too many callups from their domestic league. It's not a very good level of play. I don't think it's even full time professional. BTW even if Ralph does play against Brazil he's not cap tied. You have to play in an official FIFA "A" match to be cap tied. An "A" match is something like a qualifier, world cup, or regional cup match.

Crazy_Yank - Jamaica's Nat. league is not fully professional and the standard of play is not as high as MLS yet. However, that does not say anything about the quality of it's players. Please note that the following Foreign based players started in the local league (Some more recent than others).
Ricardo Gardner, Damani Ralph, Ricardo Fuller, Claude Davis, Andy Williams and Theodore Whitmore. Ian Goodison also played in England and returned after he got injured. Onandi Lowe (injured) and Omar Daley (Recently signed with Reading) also played in the league.

Ralph isn't tied to Jamaica and no we don't have any depth at the forward line.

2 injuries or a combination of injuries and cards and we are in trouble at the forward position.

Right now as it stands Jamaica is going through a close fought race for the JFF's presidency so until the result of that is known in september I won't call us a contender in this years qualification.

If we get a new TD then we can create some waves if not then it will be the same old same old
