Reports today suggest that Winston Bogarde has being training with the Blues youth team.

Winston with a total of two league starts said "It has been frustrating. There are several first-team players that aren't involved but I am the only one that is with the kids."

Winston is reportedly earns £40,000 per week.

Let’s hope Winston can learn something from the kids and that they go easy on him.

WOW.

That's one expensive youth team member. I bet the other kids are jealous.

I think CR is trying to use Bogarde as an example of how low a footballer can sink, so that the youths don't follow his lead.

Nah..... just kidding.

I feel it's an intimidation to get Bogarde going again, I seriously doubt that'll work! IMO, he has been too complacent being on the bench for far too long.

He should be given a free transfer at the end of the season. Lucio would be a nice addition.

Unfortunately for WB, he was brought in at a time when Chelsea didn't have much if any money for transfers. Sure, you could argue if they had a lower wage bill they could spend some money on transfers but we can save that for a different time.

Bogarde was good enough for Chelsea at that time. But they have money now, have strengthened the defense with Johnson and Bridge in there now.

Bogarde has only featured a coupla times since his arrival..... "he is just not good enough" has been his story so far.

There is no point keeping him on the roster, even though he is only in the reserves as well as the youth squad. We should consider other 'prospects' to properly utilise the 40,000 pounds wages he is getting right now.

When is the last time he even made the bench?

Bogarde is low life. He doesn't want to leave, because he knows that nobody will pay his 40k a week wage (or even close to it). So he takes the money and squanders what might be left of his "playing career". He has no love for the beautiful game, only a love for the money.

Imagine what the club could do with a 40000 pounds savings per week.

We can scour the earth and sign more youth players like Huth and Adu. Imagine we could be able to build a fantastic youth squad by just utilising that amount of money.

It's better than keeping an eyesore in the club!

Please get off of your high horse and come back down to reality. Would you willingly give up 20,000+ pounds per week if you were in his shoes?

In his shoes, YES. He has already made plenty of money from the game. I personally would rather play the game than be a low-life fecking gobshite.

Some people have dignity and others do not.

The point is Bogarde would NOT leave even when he was offered a FREE transfer. He would rather stay at the club and pick up his 40k a week never playing than go elsewhere any earn much less but actually play first team football. That is why he is a low life with no love for the game.

Um....i wasn't aware that Monkees knew how to ride horses. How about that.

FYI, ol' Winstone has been offered many chances to leave Chelsea with good deals.
He has been told that he can leave if he can find a club that will take him on loan-CFC will even ante up half of his wages.
He has been offered on a free transfer to anyone that will take him-but they have to match his wages, which he will not even consider reducing.
He has been told that CFC will cancel his contrac-no buy out-to enable him to go to another club and negotiate a deal so he can play football again.

In all cases ol' Winston has stated that he will "continue his struggle to break into the Chelsea squad"....a very noble attitude.

Oh, and he will require his 40,000 per week to be direct deposited to his bank account in the mean time!

And yet, there are some that defend him

IS ANYONE at Chelsea doing anything about organising a testimonial for Winston Bogarde?
Some good stuff here (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,8304-841207,00.html)

As a result, presumably, of some kind of administrative oversight, or perhaps because nobody at the club can do the maths, the imperious Dutchman does not have a squad number and it was reported this week that he trains with the youth team and the reserves. Imagine the indignity of that. At Chelsea, not even the reserves train with the reserves. A testimonial would redress the balance.

How about an All-Star Chelsea XI versus a reunited Ajax ’95 team — the team in which Bogarde won the European Cup during a somewhat busier period for him? Or, if that proves too difficult to organise, perhaps a cake sale.

What a riot!!!!! *LOL*

Haven't laughed so loud for a long time!!!!!
