"OJ" Mabizela has revealed that life at Spurs isn't all it's cracked up to be. Speaking on MetroFM in South Africa the defender said : "There are certain players who make me feel uncomfortable, I will not name names, but I want to raise this with management."
Since moving to the club in the summer following our tour of Africa Mabizela has become a regular in the reserves but has yet to break into the first team, something he attributes to having not shown his best in training. He continued : "I know it's tough, but I'm prepared to work hard and win a place. I'm aware that other players like Quinton Fortune and Lucas Radebe initially struggled as well.
"However, this has affected me so badly that I'm never happy at training. It has affected my performance negatively."
Not the kind of thing you particularly want to hear and the fact we've lost the manager that brought him to the club can't have helped too much. Things are that bad that Mabizela says he can't wait for International duty to come around to provide him some respite : "Playing for my country will make me feel better, since I'm unhappy here. But I'm keeping the faith that things will change for the better."
Good thing he didn't cost us a lot. Shame, he seemed perfect but he must be having a problem adjusting. Not sure about his comments on players making his life uncomfortable. All the possibly disruptive personalities have been rooted out of the club by Hodd, so I'm not sure who is left to cause a problem. Oh well, yet another negative story about the club to add to the list. Woo hoo.
