I just heard that if a pub carries Setanta they charge for you to watch it at their place. I heard that the Dubliner does this and the Tigin. Is this true? They guy told me its Setanta not the pubs. I really couldn't believe it.

I've talked to Setanta directly - yes it's true - they force the bar to charge a "cover"

Sorry to jump in your threads but yes - this is very true - happens in NY as well. Paid 10 bucks to see the Celtic v rangers match Saturday at 730AM locally - there were about 100 people in the pub and they all paid too.
There are many different Setanta feeds though - it depends on what you watch. I have the Setanta package on Direct TV in my APT - now I am sure the pub can buy that on Direct TV and show that for free, but that channel does not cover a lot of things like Celtic v. Ranters, GAA football and Cup Finals - depending on the the match, you might have to pay.

i depends what Setanta though..
if it's only regular Setanta..they don't charge..
at least not in NYC...
I've gone to many bars like Nevada's and Floyd's and and if
it's just a regular game on Setanta they're is no charge...
unless it's Setanta premium like a SPL game or Internationals

for anyone who's interested, here's their brunch menu:
http://www.barristers-clayton.com/Brunch.html
i believe they start serving brunch at 9, and the regular menu (apps, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pizza and entrees) are also available from 11 on.
they don't have a beer list on their website, and they do rotate some of their tap selections fairly often, but it's always pretty solid (have a decent bottle list as well).
