This reminds me of when Aadel Taarabt left for England. Merci Gervais et Collado.

I think the Situ situation is worse in terms of Lens. I mean Kolodziecziak is very good, though I think Situ is the better player, while being even younger and now refusing to sign any contract with Lens. He's likely headed to either MU, Liverpool or Portsmouth if sources are accurate.

Lyon have piles of money and they are signing 17 year old rookies. I dont get it. Why not sign a veteran who can help now and rely on the 17 year olds from your OWN academy.

Their academy isn't producing left backs very well, I mean Sportboy you know very well of one left backs they produced, and that would be like, Jérémy Berthod. :D

I still dont like seeing wealthy teams preying on poor 2nd division teams. I know Lens arent poor but in Ligue 2 they have a smaller budget and thus are ripe for the picking. This is another Puel signing because this guy knows nothing about foreign players.

It's true, Lens have been plucked a bit too much when considering all the guys they've developed (Kakuta, Situ, Taarabt, Kolodziecziak), for whom they've likely gotten no more than, hmmm, like 1 million euros max altogether?

Yeah thats another reason why I feel that Lille will become a bigger club than them if they ever get that stadium built.

They DON'T have piles of money. Not anymore. They wasted them on Pjanic, Piquionne, Keita...

8 straight years of Champions League money. Thats like 20 M per year.
Sales of Diarra, Essien, Abidal, Malouda, etc,
Sponsorship money
Money from tv rights (they get more than anyone)
13th richest club in Europe
They do have tons of money. I just realized you might be joking and I hope you are.

That's wishful thinking my friend. Not in a good 30 years if ever will Lille be the team in the north. You should see the Stade Felix Bollaert this season. Even in Ligue 2 it is selling out. Lens is an historic European club even if its management has done everything they can to ruin it. Lille is just one team of many around Europe with no significant history trying to follow in the upstart feet of Aulas' Lyon. I doubt that will ever happen at Lille where the Lensois are religion.

I don't think he meant in terms of fanbase but as overall growth as a sporting club (like Lyon, which still has a smaller fanbase than OM, PSG, and possibly ASSE and Lens, but has far surpassed them in strength).

Lens are not big spenders and they never will be. They have peaked as a club and there's very little room for growth. They will never see another championship again probably. Lille will be big spenders in that new stadium and they will be able to bring in more fans because lets face it, a lot of people are bandwagon jumpers. I'm not saying Lens fans will convert to Lille I'm saying Lille will draw in all the neutrals and a lot of younger fans. Oh and I do think OL have more fans than St. Etienne and Lens do. I dont think the under 30 crowd cares about St. Etienne unless they live in that city and Lens are popular all over France but still most fans are in that northern region. We know OL has tons of fans all over the country right now and St. Etienne doesnt unless those people are over 40 probably.

Since January their transfer balance is showing a deficit of 40M€. Their budget is 140M. And they still need money for their stadium.

You obviously are a newbie to French football and know very little about it you clown. How old are you anyway? Lens is a mythical club in French football history. Just look at what new signing Aalaedine Yahia said.
"Pour moi, Lens, c’est le choix le plus intéressant, à court terme et aussi à long terme. Lens, même en Ligue 2, ça ne se refuse pas. Je prends l’exemple de la Juventus qui a été rétrogradée avant de remonter en Serie A. Lens, c’est pareil. C’est un club mythique, avec de très bons joueurs, qui doit remonter tout de suite."
Get your history right before you vomit crap on these boards.

riiiiiight, now you are comparing Lens to the Juve.
And then you call me a noob? Seriously, how old are you?
There are many mythical and legendary clubs in French football, many of which have long since gone to the obscurity. But Lens has never been one.
I'll admit one thing, I'm not an expert Historian of RC Lens, so please tell me what is the most legendary feat ever made by Lens, that leads you to compare it to Juventus.
And please do not tell me 1998.
Because I am still laughing as hard I as possible, with each stupid claim you continue to make, from Lens being a legend, to now using the words of some unknown player as proof that it's comparable to Juventus.

Have you been drinking too much lately?
please, entertain me with more of your priceless posts
I am still waiting for you to explain why the Racing Club de Lens is a mythical club of the Ligue 1.

Dude, I really have very little to gain from "entertaining" a Balkan troll like yourself. You obviously have no knowledge of French football if you have to ask why Lens is legendary. Why are you here anyway? Go to the Levski Sofia boards (if they have any). I'm sure nobody on the French board is interested in the football played in those xenophobic countries. Have a half-way decent life loser.
