I totally agree with you. Last tournament we had maybe the best coach in Colombia, look what he does right now with Millos, they played very well and if they won Cali at home like they suppose to do, they would be with 4 out of 4!! amazing! (or maybe it's just Ivan Hurtado's luck :D where ever he plays, good things happens-love this player, very good even at the age of 33) I really appriciate Barrabas, but I simply can't understand many of his decisions. almost every other coach could take this squad to championship (I still didn't lost confidence in Gomez, but he has to improve a lot). The problem is not just the results. Even when we won Caldas we played suck. this ball movement from player to player without really create chances is driving me crazy. Actually, the only good game that we played was away in Bucaramanga where we deserved to win, but poor finishing by the players, idiot referee and late reaction by Barrabas led us to a draw. And when we though that here is the mighty NAL is back, Los Naranajas came to Atanasio, played much much better then us and deserve the win. I really hope to get back on track this saturday for two reasons: if we don't win this one, it'll so hard to chase after the first 8 and also because it's a clasico. it's one thing to lose to Envigado at home, it's another thing to lose two games in a raw for the city rival. (last game ended 2:0 for them, not including the 1:0 lost in the Copa Postobon). I just hope that my biggest fear isn't happening: since Zuniga left, I was afraid that our attack will be less effective since Zuniga was our best player in my opinion with his amazing technic from the right side which created many of our goals. Piedrahita is a good player, but offensivly doesn't have 40% from what Zuniga gave us. About Felipe Chara I don't wanna even talk. He is much better as a defensive midfielder, not as a right winger. And one last thing: after 2 games, it's about time that Gomez will put Charria as a starter with Moreno, we lose co-operation between 2 players who can create many goals. Barrabas, for your intention!!!

Problem is that in colombia they just keep hiring the same coachs

Sanchi fails at JUnior goes to DIM is failing there and now will go to Nacional and so forth

there needs to be more coachs and I agree I dont think the new coach got his job off tlaent but on family name its like when Junior wanted to make Pibe coach

think people except alot out of an america, dept cali, nacional, millos and they cant be fing around with coachs especially NAcional who are probably the richest team in the league(them or Santa Fe)

If you look at the coaches for the last 20 years, probably you will see the same 20 or so names repeating over and over and over, hoping from one team to the other to the next.

I would say that I would love teams to give more opportunities to fresh minds like Alexis or Gamero, but at the same time for every Gamero you get two Vanemeracks:o or a Osorio.

At the end of the day, if you have at least ONE title to show, that's all you need in your resume to get hired.

Regarding Barrabas, I really feel that he doesn't have what it takes and that is just thinkering too much with the team from game to game. IMHO his days as A.Nal coach are numbered.

I really like Alexis but think he is doing great with our youth players(most his team seem like youth players from his schools) and would prefer him being a sub 20 coach or something like that than go to a big team and doing badly

Gamero of boyaca is also great but if he leaves Boyaca that teams going to 2nd division.

But I agree when a small club coach does well then its ok to bring him to a bigger team but keep getting failing coachs cause they did well 5 years ago is stupid

I think Mendoza who took Honduras to the olympics should be the next player to be given a shot. He says he wants Junior

My friend, I think this is the lineup we've all been waiting to see from Barrabas.
This should have been the lineup during the last four matches also. Not to put Giovanni as striker because it's not his position. Not to put Charria on the bench, because it's not his normal place. Glad to see Estiven coming back, hope that he'll justify the return to the first squad, he really wasn't good. we need him not just for Nacional, also for the yellow jeresy. The only problem we have is in front. Barrabas always needs to open with 2 strikers when one of them is Renteria but the problem is with the other player. Nacional again made the regular mistake by not signing beside Renteria another good striker. All this squad is great but look about our poor strikers who used to be amazing players: Sergio Galvan-the only man that I can't say nothing about him. love this guy very much, was one of the main factors in our success in the last 2 years but what can we do, he is just getting old. Still, I prefer him over any other Verdolaga striker, but we cannot count on his speed or stamina and we need him as a backyp, not as a starting lineup player.
Carlos Villagra-gave wonderful season in Pasto, led them to be champs and that's it basically. since then, he is just going down. was worst in Millos, scored only 4 goals for us last year (all of our strikers were suck last year, which are all the players we have now plus Renteria :(). Barrabas wanted to release him, that was the original plan, but they didn't sign another player and Villagra stayed.
Carmelo Valencia-What can we say? he was our cynderella in the championships in 2007, called up by Pinto and from this point-NADA!! last year-one penalty vs. Tolima and that's it!!! and it continued in the practice matches and vs. Santa Fe he was suck like the whole team, even at the Copa Postobon he missed penalty in the derby which we lost 1:0. maybe good as a bakcup, not as a starting striker.
Leon Dario Munoz-He was great former player of Nacional. but also, his age, so many injuries, barely celebrate goals in the last year that he is been year. needs to retire probably, he is injury every 1-2 matches, his body probably doesn't handle anymore. Millos was interested at first, but again, we didn't sign any other striker and Munoz stayed.
for conclusion, we have De Voz who is very talented, we have Perea who I hope will be as good as his father but in his position, but it's not enough. Why didn't they signed 22-year-old Argentine, Luis Escalada?? I herd he's good. or Arzuaga, or Yanez?? The only fact that I know is that we need another good forward and fast.

Agree, in our situation right now, the most important thing is the 3 points. Yesterday we also saw for the first time this year some ball movements, shoot on goal but still, only in the first half and little bit in the second half. after that, DIM started to pressure us little bit, had their chances too. But as I said before, our main problem is lack of good strikers, from the reason that I mentioned above. Galvan played well, but he lost his speed, in the past he was score two goals in a game like this. Renteria was ok too, headed the ball that Mendoza score, but still not much threat on goal. Not like Milton, Sergio Herrera, Victor Cortes, Diego Alvarez who always threat on goal. After all he is young talented striker who had good season last year with Huila so I guess he didn't forget how to play, But I also agree that Barrabas still doesn't fit for this level. Marulanda needed to keep Quintabani or bring another coach at this level, not someone who coached Bucaros and NAL 10 years ago and that's it basically. I'm happy with the win, but 1-0 vs. 10 men poor DIM......:( If we play like this vs. Millos, America or Cali, it won't be good (see our opening match vs. Santa Fe). at least I agreed this time with Barrabas's lineup.

Agree. I don't remember, beside last tournament of course, when our offense was so poor. 5 goals in 5 matches!!! that's very bad, and you can learn from it about our strikers situation, as I mentioned before. Our game isn't flowing, it's not the team that we used to see in the last years, that scores 2-3 goals even if they didn't play so well. today, it seems like it takes forever to score only one goal. :(
I really hope that Gomez will fixes our major problems, we still have time to do so. I just don't understand how did we won almost everything during preseason and suddenly we can't play right, barely score a goal per game.

San Andrés islas, Vegachí, Sincelejo, Urabá y Cali son los sitios donde Atlético Nacional siembra semillas de talento y de formación integral ante todo, en cerca de 3 mil niños que se sienten orgullosos de pertenecer y vestir los colores verde y blanco del elenco nacionalista. Próximamente el municipio de Turbo y el Departamento de Arauca ingresarán en esta lista que pretende formar personas de bien a través del fútbol.

me parece q amaya no es tan facil de reempalzar a pesar de q no sea un jugador tan fotado tecnicamente, ese man le dba jerarquia al mediocampo del nacional, y creoq con los pelaos de martinez y palomino no van a avivir bn, seguramente pa el proximo semestre van a buscar un nuevo volante de contencion estoy seguro
