It took some serious scrounging and looking, but I found it...
April 16, 1989
1-0 loss, away to Costa Rica
CONCACAF World Cup qualifier (the only USA loss of the campaign, I reckon?)
Cheers,
William

I won't even bother guessing on that last one... just hope babytiger is right and congrats if so...
But since I'm not a US fan per se can I just boast a little? I GOT IT!
YEAH!!!
I think I'm gonna go play this game on the Brazil forum now.

Thanks! I'll give the cupiedoll to my lovely wife. :)
That was easy-- just looked it up in a back issue of a U.S. Soccer media guide.
Next challenge? :D
This really is a fun game...

OK, my turn to pose the questions...
This one should be pretty easy-- but brownie points for anyone who can tell me the significance of the lineup...
Sommer, Agoos, Caligiuri, Lalas, Lozzano (Ibsen), Burns, Deering (Razov), C. Jones, Kerr, Kirovski, Stewart
Cheers,
William

I believe this was played in Dallas in March or April (I think March) of 1995 against Uruguay. Game ended early due to a thunderstorm and was Bora's last game as US coach.

DING DING DING!!
Absolutely correct. :)
Next one-- and this is quite a bit tougher (dates me a little bit, but I felt that this was a significant game from the past)...
Brcic, Kapp (Crow), Durgan, Canter, G. Thompson, Parkinson (Glenn), A. DiBernardo, A. Green (Van Der Beck), Comrie (Fox), Perez (Petersen), Moyers.
One clue... this happened while the NASL was still around.

Complete guess:
I'll say the 2-1 WCQ victory over Mexico sometime in 1980 in Fort Lauderdale. (The US had already been eliminated from the 1982 World Cup.)

Too far back.
Nice guess, though.

That's the one! :D
Nil-nil score at Giants Stadium, seen as a major feather in the cap of American soccer at the time, ahead of the Olympic tournament later that year.
The baton now belongs to whoever wishes to post another lineup. :)
Cheers,
William
