Wow. They are taking a water break at the 30th minute. Must really be hot.

Hmm, never seen that before.
But good on the ref for doing that. Hopefully it results in a livelier game :) .

I've seen it in a U-14 game but never an international match.

That's common in Africa. Sometimes you'll hear church songs being played
ad-naseum too. Just their method of supporter culture.

I think I saw that during a Liguilla match in Mexico. I was like, huh? Since when did they allow those? Looking back to USA 94, I don't remember those happening. I guess FIFA mandated this when?

very even and tight match, both teams seem to be trying not to make any mistakes. THis has extra time written all over it. As for the Promise miss, I have no clue why the coach is playing him. He has been terrible in the first 3 group games. He was then benched in the quarters and semis, and we started scoring more goals, so I have no clue why coach brings him back on in the final leaving out our best player in the semis Obasi on the bench. The coach really makes me wonder sometimes. If I don't see that sub at the beginning of the second half I'm gonna be real pissed.

Anyone else notice in the stats, 11 fouls by Nigeria vs 2 by Argentina?

Argentina really turned it on to end the 1st half, there. But Nigeria's holding the fort so far.
Messi and some Nigerian players didn't seem too friendly at the end there.

Both teams on the field.
Chuck Mangione blasting his "tune".
Gold Medal hangs in the balance . . . . a moment players will never forget.

Apparently they had another, more talented musician to play but this one was better looking ;)

Ekpo has looked really great. good long passes, really comfortable on the ball... very nice for an MLS player. even stopped messi's run.
JP Dellacamera has got some kind of hard on for Lionel Messi.. he's not the only player in Argentina....
