Last I heard the club has rejected the offer. Can't see why they would reject £8m for a player who has just refused a contract renewal and has caused us trouble in the past.

However, if this is a sign of West Ham changing their ways towards young players by sticking by them instead of cashing in then it's got my vote. I just hope the new board know what they are doing with this deal and don't end up losing both the player and any cash offers for him.

If this article is true then I would say it's clear that he is holding out for a move to Spurms. They are much more his sort of club and he may have grand illusions of using them as a stepping stone to one day join his brother at ManU. It worked for Carrick but somehow I can't see it happening for Anton.

I'm not sure I want to be all down on Anton and think he wants to move to Spurs. I'm not sure if he does. Howver, I genuinely think this is the time to cash in. In the last couple of years, he has changed from an honest, hard-working defender who does the basics well to a showpony. He's shirking responsibility with the dirty parts of the game and, as such, with nine players that can actually play in there, I think we could afford to lose him.

I have now heard rumours that Spurms have ruled themselves out of bidding for Anton.

Also SSN are now reporting that SAFC are bidding £5m for Cole!!! The only question is why hasn't the deal been completed yet? :eek:

The offer was accepted, but Anton is still thinking things over. Whatever the result, he shouldn't play poker and gamble with the club. He ain't that good and 8m is a good price. I have a feeling that he will change his mind and sign a new deal. I know Stomper's missus comes from up there, but she doesn't live there now. Wise girl.
13 m for him and Cole seems ok too, but we must a have a striker lined up to sign before 1 Sept.

If Stomper's lass is a Geordie then it's worth noting that the two places are worlds apart in footballing terms, especially to the locals. If whinging was a weapon then the Israeli/Palestinian war hasn't got a look in with these two.
