Does anyone have any idea when the tickets will go on sale for the game at RFK? I see they're on sale through SA. I usually book them there, but I'm taking two of my children. Unfortunately, SA/AO can start cheers/chants that may not be suitable for young ears.

US Soccer usually does pre-sales for qualifiers, but I have yet to see anything from them, either. Has anyone received any ticket info for this game...or maybe have some info as for when tickets may go on sale?

Thanks in advance!

If you want to use a comparitive timeline, public tickets for the Sept. 10 WCQ in Chicago went on sale on July 28. So, I'd guess tickets for USA/Cuba to be available come late August?

The ussoccer website says ticket info is coming soon.

you could always try to contact them and see what they say:

U.S. Soccer Federation
1801 S. Prairie Ave.
Chicago, IL 60616
Phone: (312) 808-1300

or you could try to contact someone at DC United or RFK (but I'm not sure how involved they might or might not be with the US WCQ match ticketing process) --

Thanks for the info. I had emailed them last week to see if they were going to offer a pre-sale, but I have yet to hear anything back from them. I'm really hoping I don't have to go through Ticketmaster...those service charges are a rip off.

RFK Stadium is no stranger to the U.S. National Team, having hosted 17 matches since 1977. The U.S. has collected a 10-3-4 record in the nation’s capital, including a 3-1-1 record in World Cup qualifying. With an average attendance of over 30,000, Washington, D.C., has witnessed several memorable matches, including a 4-0 victory against Mexico in 1995 and a 1-0 win against Argentina in 1999. RFK last hosted the U.S. men on Oct. 13, 2004, when an Eddie Johnson hat trick paced the United States to a 6-0 victory against Panama to close out the semifinal phase of qualifying for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

The U.S. has only faced Cuba once before in World Cup qualifying, dating back to a two-game series in 1949 that was played in Mexico City, Mexico. The U.S. tied Cuba, 1-1, in their first meeting and then won, 5-2, during a three-team group that also included Mexico. Overall, the U.S. holds a 5-1-1 record against Cuba with 21 goals for and nine goals against.

The U.S. currently sits in second place of Group A behind Trinidad & Tobago after one match. The U.S. collected their first ever World Cup qualifying victory on Guatemalan soil with a 1-0 win on Aug. 20 in Guatemala City to open the semifinal round. Next up, the U.S. will first complete an historic visit to Cuba on Sept. 6 (8 p.m. ET - ESPN Classic, Galavision), making their first appearance on the island since 1947. Four days later, the U.S. welcomes Trinidad & Tobago to Chicago for the team’s debut in Bridgeview, Ill. (tickets). During this round, there are three groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the final round of qualifying that will be held in 2009.

anyone know where SA is sitting? Alternatively, do folks from the area think I could just buy a lower level end-zone seat and shift over to the SA section?

oh and anyone else think its complete and utter bull@*& that the $28 ticket gets $12.50 in handling and ordering fees and then, god forbid you want to print your own ticket - another $4.50....what a crock no wonder families don't come to games.

No crap - I've complained to Ticketmaster about this, as well. I really don't expect them to do anything about it. I really wish there was another alternative to Ticketmaster.

I also wish they'd show you what seats are available and let you pick from them, not give you the "best available" seats. I'm taking a child with me, so the best available seats are on the first row of a section, not closest to midfield.

See you guys/gals in DC!

If you want to sit with SA, buy from them. The DC supporters sections at RFK have ushers who check for tix for those sections (so assume these same folks will be working this game and plan accordingly).

Did everyone get their pre-sale e-mail from U.S. Soccer? Neither I nor my spouse received ours.

Had the same problem. I tried to call when I realized how frustrating it would be, but since it was during the pre-sale, I was told that the pre-sale was internet only. Unbelievable.

I'm taking my 7-yr old for his "first cap", and I did manage to get the front row of a 200-level section.

But those fees are unfrigginbelievable. I felt like I needed a shower after ordering them.
