Nick Rimando, who had played every minute of every regular season game since being acquired before the 2002 MLS season, will miss the remainder of the year after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during a 2-0 victory over the New York/New Jersey MetroStars on Thursday at Giants Stadium
...
Meantime, Hudson was said to be feeling better after not returning to the sideline for the second half of Thursday's game. The 48-year-old Englishman was suffering from a cold and a difficult week of travel, United technical director Dave Kasper said.

Hey, this story got TOP of the page - FRONT PAGE in the Post Sports section.
Highly unusual. I normally have to look very thoroughly thru the entire section to find the two little columns in the back.
Does bad news sell or is United maybe finally getting some deserved attention??
Hoping the latter.
Will definetely miss Nick's abilities and experience.
But from what we saw of Warren Thursday and in US Open Cup, we may be OK.

Good article by Mr. Goff.
GREAT that it is on the front page at the very top!
I am glad to hear Mr. Hudson is feeling better.
I wish Rimando a speedy recovery.
ps-The front page of tomorrow's Sunday Washington Post should be awesome! ;)

I can't stand astroturf or whatever you want to call it.

Ask Chris Armas about grass, guys.
Turf likely contributed to this injury, but he was running and jumping at an awkward angle. There are some crappy grass fields around this league so I wouldn't be so certain that there's no chance he could have suffered the same kind of injury on some of them.
This sucks for Nicky. Big time. Best of luck in your recovery.

Brian you could ask Evan Whitfield about that same grass, too. Maybe Fire players are just jinxed at RFK.

Exactly.
I hate turf as much as the next guy, but just think what condition that "grass" gfield they had last year would be in after Isabel?
