Master Bates talks about how the good 'ol days of high spending are over in footy and specifically targets the need for Peter Reid to prove his coaching skills.
And notice his quote on the Club's activity, or lack there of, this Summer. He says it was Claudio's decision not to bring anyone new in, not his. That's funny considering I seriously doubt Claudio decided himself that he didn't want Geremi in the 11th hour considering he had been trying to sign him over the last couple of seasons.

I like the sound of this. We have not had any continuity for years and we've alway been close, but no cigar....
I for one am glad the squad is virtually the same as last season.

I agree GPK, continuity has been one of our huge problems over the last couple of seasons. With the influx of new players coming in compounded with injuries, our starting XI has hardly remained the same week in and week out.

For him in this little speach.
Utter bollox in fact on the point of Ranieri not wanting new players. In fact it was Ranieri himself who offered the real reason as to why the Smoggies now have the young Geremi. It was only after this fact that CFC even made a ststement about it.
In fact it was The spaniards that first said we were broke and Birch vehemently denied this.
We've since got Enrique de Lucas on a free transfer, which is looking like the bargain of the season, and if you need two players for each position, we've got that and more
Alright then, i guess we got a lot more players in the youth/reserves than i knew about. The last time i looked we were scratching our nuts wondering if we had a legit right full not to mention cover for the mid.
We have ample cover for the right of mid to be sure, but, there is a difference in having cover and having players that are capable of covering.
Honestly i just can't see where he is coming from with shyte like this.
Where would we play any new players? Who would drop out? People say 'sell him or him' but someone has to buy them - and there are no buyers," concluded the Chelsea chairman
Um, like i mentioned a right full would be nice as we could then move Melchiot up the field where he is better and still have him as cover for the right full itself.
Cover for the center mids would also be nice.
Continuity is great, however we are starting the season without several key players already. When they heal they will undoubtedly be back in the first 11 so once again continuity is out the window.
God forbid anybody gets a knock against the addicks.
Still...roll on the season opener.
