Yet surely you must conceed that at 33 Bergkamp shouldn't be playing every game because that would dull his effectiveness.

As another pointer posted earlier the reason Dennis was so valuable last year was that Wenger used him judiciously, selectively. He was always fresh and prepared. Never fatigued or looking jaded.

I don't think he'll play every game, it seems that 21 year-olds reckon they need a rest these days, never mind a player who's 33. What I expect to see is Dennis playing about 90% of the matches until Pires comes back. The playmaking duties effectively fall to him until Pires recovers and with Kanu and Jeffers injured, our striking options are a little limited anyway. Once the injured players start to come back, I think Wenger will give him a rest.
