CL matches in East Asia

I will keep this as a running info thread of CL matches that will be aired in East Asia.


The following matches for next week will be shown on ESPN in East Asia. All times are Taiwan time. Japan and Korea are one hour ahead of Taiwan. Hong Kong and China are the same time as is Singapore.

Oct. 1 08:00 - Olympiakos Piraeus FC v. Juventus FC

Oct. 1 11:30 - Deportivo La Coruna v. PSV Eindhoven

Oct. 1 18:00 - Lokomotiv Moscow v. Arsenal

Oct. 2 11:30 - FC Porto v. Real Madrid CF

Oct. 3 01:30 - VFB Stuttgart v. Manchester United

Ummm... I don't understand why ESPN Taiwan has inferior coverage to the regular ESPN Asia (for Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, China and other East Asian countries).

In other words, Taiwan show one fewer game (Celta x AC Milan). Worse yet, Taiwan doesn't show the 4-hour Champions League Extra, which shows 15 minutes highlights of every game.

ESPN sucks eggs. Too much Champions League soccer, too little NFL.

Yes, ESPN sucks in NFL.... wait until Super Bowl when their commentators are more interested in NFL Europe than the game. "Oh yeah.... that XXXX played for Barcelona Dragon.... he was so good in World Bowl Vll".

Unfortunately, this isn't far from the truth. Soccer is also competing with the Major League Baseball playoffs right now, something that is sure to get far better ratings in Taiwan than soccer. This really is a baseball county and not a soccer one.
