This getting unreal. Do you think it’s only incredibly bad luck?
Dortmund also use to have 10-15 injured players in the Hitzfeld era. Part of the explanation was that they were signing a lot of aging stars. Any explanation for the current situation?

i think it's just bad luck, but there are also theories ssaying that it MAYBE have something to do with new shoe architectures (other type of cleats).

i don't think so, but in these days you'll never know.

btw: dede's injury was only a minor one and maybe he is back tomorrow against freiburg. addo has "only" part of his right cruciate ligament ruptured (for the third time!) and will wear a cast for 6 weeks. then it will be decided whether he will have an operation or not.

Practically the first 11 which is quite sad but hey I'm not losing any sleep because it's DORTMUND !!

However you guys are still getting the results and remaining in the top 5 which is good.

Good enough to be above Schalke but not Bayern ;)

the story continues: :-(

it seems dede got a minor ligament injury in the bochum match. right now they say he will miss at least 1 week. that plus kehl' red card (which doesn't count for dfb pokal on wednesday) makes me feel we are going through tough times.

I think we now reached the number of 13 missing players. Thats unbelievible............

And the ZDF reporter compared this number to the 4 players Gladbach was missing. Looks like they want to make a comedy-show out of their sport-shows("but Mr. Sammer, Gladbach was also missing some players!!!!!")

Up to five players could return against Bayer 04

[10.11.] The Bundesliga takes a fortnight´s break, but Borussia Dortmund´s medical department is as busy as ever. Even though there´s no training on Monday and Tuesday the massage rooms are crowded.

The doctors and physios are feverishly trying to make Matthias Sammer more staff available for the next Bundesliga home match against second-placed Bayer Leverkusen on 22 November.

Five and a half weeks after his cameo appearance against Vienna and nine weeks after his last start (at Stuttgart), Tomas Rosicky (back problems) might be one of the players returning to the squad. The same goes for Flavio Conceicao, who has been ruled out since 16 August when he suffered a serious hamstring injury.

Ahmed Reda Madouni, who sustained an ankle injury in the 1-0 win at Frankfurt on 5 October could also be fit to return for the match against Leverkusen. Leandro and André Bergdölmo, who was forced to sit out the game in Munich, are also in line for first-team action again.

Except of Sahr Senesie, Evanilson, Amoroso, Christoph Metzelder, Otto Addo all the other players are back in team training that started today. Dede and Fernandez are still in South America but will return in the next days.

Bergdolmo, Dede and some other are having reduced training but will be available for the Schlacke clash on January 30th.

I am hoping they can make a push in the second half, and turn the atmosphere back in to the positive. With all the injuries, pay-cuts, Euro competition crashes, it will be something if they can pull a positive result out of the second half of the season.

I never get to see them on TV, (Euro Final in 97 was last time) but I follow their results every week.

-Injury update:

http://www.schwatzgelb.com/aboutbvb/roster.htm#injurylist

Seems that some players are back for the Schlacke clash. At least Falvio, Frings, Demel and Bergdolmo.

Dede and Ricken are still doubtful and will most likely not play on Friday.

-Amoroso had the operation he wanted in the USA but they didn't diagnosed a damaged cruciate ligament but "only" correced a knee meniscus. So he will probalby not be out for several months (till next season) but some weeks only.

Still injured are:

long-term
Addo (fall 2004)
Amoroso (some weeks)
C.Metzelder (maybe April)

short-term
M.Metzelder (ear problems)

doubtful for 1860
Senesie (flu)
Bergdolmo (knee)

So at all this looks much better, I think. :-)

Keith's Response: CMetz and Addo have been out so long, I don't even count them anymore. According to friends I asked, they hear Dede will only miss the cup match in Luebeck.
