The Fantasy Olympics League (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/table.mc?id=31664) will be used to collect scores for our internal competitions. Nice to see all 32 teams signed up already. Good work league admins!

As usual, the Fantasy Olympics will be the top three scorers across 'All Rocks Leagues' - earning Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Two gold medals in a week, means no silver and a bronze for third. Two silvers means no bronze will be awarded. But two teams can get the bronze, to make it four medalists in a given week.

Rock Hard Championship Challenge Cup

The three 12-Week Cups (Autumn, Winter and Spring versions) replace the former Rock Hard Championship Challenge Cup format; although the trademarked name will remain.

All drafted teams entered into the Olympic Championship League are eligible to play.

Gameweeks 1 and 2 will be used to get the Olympic Championship League table rolling and allow managers to make post draft adjustments to snap up players still in the pool who turn out to be the hottest thing around since Berbatov's hairband.

12-Week Autumn Cup
Table positions will be recorded after Gameweek 2 and the competition will run from Gameweek 3 to Gameweek 14.

12-Week Winter Cup
Table positions will be recorded after Gameweek 14 and the competition
will run from Gameweek 15 to Gameweek 26.

12-Week Spring Cup
Table positions will be recorded after Gameweek 26 and the competition
will run from Gameweek 27 to Gameweek 38.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Going with a greater weighting towards the later cups, to hopefully keep the season's interest alive, this is what I came up with with regards to scoring:
==========
Autumn Cup (A)
==========
1st: 4 points
2nd: 3 points
3rd: 2 points
==========
Winter Cup (B)
==========
1st: 5 points
2nd: 4 points
3rd: 3 points
==========
Spring Cup (C)
==========
1st: 10 points
2nd: 6 points
3rd: 4 points
This would mean that a team winning the 1st two cups and coming second in the final cup of the season would have 15 points; whereas a team coming second in the first two cups and winning the finale would clear up with 17 points.
That's assuming the same two teams contest all three finals.
A team finishing second in all three finals, would have more points than a solitary Spring Cup winner (13:10).
As the Rock Hard Championship Challenge Cup has always leaned towards rewarding managers who get it right towards the end of the season, results in the Spring Cup trumps those from earlier rounds.
In the case of a tie-break, a bonus point is awarded to the team reaching the higher position; determined thus:
C1, C2, B1, B2, A1, C3
Where C is the Spring Cup, B the Winter Cup, and A the Autumn Cup.
Gameweek 1
It was close at the top, with two teams tied for a gold and the third-placed (bronze) team just a point behind them.
ColdDogSoup FC - Lobo Mojo 63
VCC - Ric Anderson 63
1800-UK.com - Jimmy Greaves 62
There was also a tie at the bottom of the table with Tally Road AFC and Crazies (22 points) both struggling to keep up with the early pace.
Time to get those transfers moving, think about the fixtures and captains for next week, as the cut-off for the Autumn Cup (starting in Gameweek 3) is 30 teams.
Two teams effectively drop out next week.
Inquiry, inquiry, not even sure if VCC is old enogh, no way he looks 16:mad: and why is it called the Wiiiiigggggguummm Lo-Cal-Latte tiebreaker :confused:
Sir Not Yet Dead Fred said he was pleased with the Gold Medal and not suprised that the Lo-Cal-Latte elitest bribed media once again slighted their acheivment, just means the hard working lads will have to prove it on the pitch week in week out, we aim to make history this year not dwell in the past.
Interesting that you're able to use this as motivation for the rest of the season. I had expected that having already surpassed last year's gold medal tally, you'd call it a day and go somewhere to rest and relax for the remainder of the season.... :D
With the Europeans kicking off their 2010 World Cup qualifying this weekend, FIFA have a fantasy football game that includes all the confederations.
Looks very interesting and if you're mega good, you and a companion could win a return economy flight to South Africa and tickets to all three group stage games of your favourite team with hotel accommodation included!
Wiggum lashes out at team - "If We Can't Beat ColdDogSoup FC, We Might As Well Fold"
Coach Wiggum lashed out at his squad earlier today as it appears FC Springfield are heading to defeat in the Rock Hard Championship Cup against arch-nemisis ColdDogSoup FC. "This is simply unacceptable" said Wiggum, sticking pins in a doll looking like a dog eating soup, "I mean what division are they in, the JV league?"
The immediate response was a minor shake up of the squad, with Behrami and Fuller coming in and Miller and Milner heading to Moe's looking for work.
While not contesting the result - "we arent running that type of campaign" muttered chairman of the board Montgomery Burns - FC Springfield officials are wondering whether to send a team of crack researchers to the state of New Mexico to dig up dirt on the ColdDog gaffer. "We understand that while Coach Lobo claims to be in favor of the Rock Hard Cup, this only comes after a long period of actually opposing the competition". Springfield officials are also mulling whether to protest Coach Lobo's alleged behavior at the ColdDogSoup local library earlier this year, where he sought to ban the best selling coloring book "FC Springfield: A Small Rocks Dynasty and the Wiggum That Made It Happen"
Not my place to fill this in, but I was wondering how this one was shaking out. Obviously, this is very, very, very unofficial. Also, as I read the rules from last year, the home team gets "+1" to break a tie: http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=565058
and a tie actually came into play!!!
Hopefully the columns turn out okay, as my format is slightly different from the standard, but it kept it easier for me to keep track of all of this. (Also, I used the description "w##" or "L##" to show where each team came from in the preceding week for those who will check my scoring!!!)
WEEK 4 (Gameweek 6)
