Reject left back Constant Djakpa to Hannover. Two-season loan.
Bayer has option to recall Djakpa after next season.

Wow. Bayer could have really used his leadership on the roster this season.
I don't think EVERY BL fan will miss him, but lots will........ :o

What do most people on here think about Arturo Vidal? Personally, I think he has the potential to turn into a great player...if he got his head out of his ass: stupid cards, disciplinary issues off the field (at least, with Chile's NT), etc...your guys' thoughts? :)

I haven't seen Vidal play in ages...it would be nice to hear some feedback from his progress in the German league.

Does not seem like there are many Leverkusen fans here :p but I thought I would post it anyway. Apparently, they have signed another Chilean: striker Gonzalo Vasquez. He was brought over on trial on recommendation of his cousin Arturo Vidal.
Here's an article from the Chilean press:

Not much is known about this guy except for the fact that he was playing in the Chilean 3rd div. for Union Quilpue. I did not come across any articles reporting this either on the Bundesliga site or on Leverkusen's official site. Vasquez, however, is listed on Bayer II's squad on wikipedia.

I think he will be a good player at best. There's a lot in his game that is lacking.

There is no U18 team.

Thanks.
Maybe that's why Bielsa has not played him as a starter in the NT. He probably knows more about Vidal's progress since most Chilean football fans don't follow the Bundesliga.
What is he lacking in your opinion?

Well, I saw of BL myself (but I could be considered biased). Anyhow, I think in Germany he faces the same problems he faces with the NT: stupid/unnecessary cards combined sometimes with awesome/energetic displays. If he's to go any further, he probably needs to mature and settle down.

What is he lacking in your opinion?
Match awareness and overall football intelligence.
I think Vidal has all the physical tools and then some. He just doesn't have the "match savvy" to go with it.
I think if he becomes a student of the game instead of just "playing" it, he could be a great one.

Thanks for the info. It's interesting to see they have the same opinion of Vidal across the pond...it means we are not so lost and Bielsa knows what he is doing by letting a much less talented and not so strong player like Carmona take his place in the NT. Carmona's maturity and tactical awearness is much better than Vidal, which makes him more reliable.
I am of the opinion that Vidal is a late bloomer and will be a great player one day. Because of his physical fitness I see him playing to his mid 30's.
He is fortunate to be playing in Germany...probably the best place to learn what he is lacking.

Former Leverkusen defender Henrique is on the move again. After Barcelona signed central defender Dmytro Chygrynskyy from Shaktar Donezk, Henrique asked for another loan and was sent to Barca's Primera Division rival Racing Santander on a season's loan.

they are one of the squads I am curious in my research of learning more about all the various bundesliga clubs.
It was weird as didn't they play extremely better away from home last year. Was there any particular reason for that?
