For anybody that has FiOS, why does their guide suck so badly?? In general it is far inferior to the Optimum guide that I was used to. Much less info, plus the remote seems to get jammed up and stalls a lot. It is especially bad as far as Setanta is concerned. I don't think anything matches up with what is actually scheduled! They don't show Aresenal vs. West Brom for tomorrow AM nor do they show Chelsea vs Pompey for Sunday AM, but according to the Setanta website, these are the games that will be on.
It also becomes quite a project if you want to dvr something. Yesterday I wanted to record the Aston Villa UEFA Cup match, but since the guide info was wrong I had to record 3 different rugby shows back to back to back that were in the time slot for the Villa game. It doesn't have the manual recording feature that Optimum has. The only options are to start or end recording up to 15 minutes after or before the start/end of the program you want to record. Anybody else experiencing these issues? I would assume so. Hope this is just a temporary bug.

I still get Setanta from Globecast, but I do have FIOS and have had to deal with inaccurate listings in several other cases (GOLTV listings for example sometimes do not update in a timely fashion), so I can commiserate with you on this. The best you can do is just use the manual recording option to record the entire time slot you want to record ..don't bother with selecting multiple programs off their incorrect listings.

This guide issue is bigger than you think. we have had issues with the guide for a year. do not bother contacting the Fiber solutions center (that 1-888 number) as they have no idea how to fix it. I also have a DVR that is basically useless. A few months ago I tried torecord the Austalian A league final and I could not becasue the guide was listing as 1 hour programs.
The fact is that Verizon uses a third party vendor to create its guide. This vendor apparently is located on Mars, and does not have and=y clue about good grammar, accuracy or coordination. and yet Verizson continues to use them.
I have been in contact with Verizon Corporate about this twice now. The first time we got lots of phone calls and requests for examples of errors. They never follwoed though, event hough they say theyare on top of the problem.
If you phone the fiber solutions cneter they will have you resetting the box, playing with the settings and basically grovelling on the floor. Don't bother.
Its not not just the sports channels, its everything.
Here is how I got in touch with a name and a number at Corporate. I suggest that anyone who is having this probelm email the dept that oversees the company's corporate responsibility policy wirh examples of the errors and voicing your unhappiness with their service. http://responsibility.verizon.com/contact-us.htm. The email is responsibility@verizon.com.
Good Luck!
