Hey all! WCQ starts up again next Wednesday August 20 at Guatemala and the Pescaditos! DFW AO is hosting a WP for the match, so we hope to see you there to cheer on Yankee football!

Tell your friends! Bring your friends for a chance to win fabulous prizes!

****************************************

WHO: DFW American Outlaws
WHAT: CONCACAF WCQ Semifinal Group Stage
WHEN: Wednesday August 20. Specials start at 8:00 PM, match kicks off at 9:00 PM
WHERE: Industry Bar Dallas www.industrybardallas.com (http://www.industrybardallas.com/)
MORE INFO: www.myspace.com/dfwamericanoutlaws (http://www.myspace.com/dfwamericanoutlaws) or check our ads in The Observer and TheSportsPage!

FUN STUFF:
* Raffle with decent prizes, including FCD autographed jersey, Blockbuster gift cards, Nike "Don't Tread On Me" t-shirts, iPod dock, and more! Just be an existing member of AO or join AO at the WP and your name is entered into the drawing! Raffle prizes to be given out over the course of all WCQ WPs.

* Instant membership benefits! Just bring $15 cash or check (we don't have the gear to take credit cards yet) and you can join AO immediately and receive immediate benefits, which include a t-shirt, bandana, and sticker or Dempsey poster!

* Nike "Don't Tread On Me" t-shirts for sale! Only $20!

* Drink specials, including drinks named after USMNT players. We thought of a virgin pina colada for Landycakes, but who knows what Jose will comeup with!

* A room dedicated to AO for the WP. This room is brand new and includes three wall-mounted TV sets, pool tables, brand-new sound system, and its own bar!

* The USMNT beating the crap out of Pescadito!

WEIRD STUFF:
* Industry Bar is in a dry part of Dallas (not Addison) so you *MUST* present your drivers license at the door. If you have not been there before, you must sign a Privacy Policy, which acts as their "private club agreement." No big deal, I can send you the text of it if you want, just PM me.

* 21s and over ONLY (sorry all you over-18s ... for afternoon games, we can do that, but for night games, we can't)

***********************************

Let's start building towards the World Cup and the awesome World Cup WPs!

LET'S GO YANKS!

Dave-

If people don't show up, do I get to keep the prizes? That jersey looks good hanging up in my sunroom.

:D

Thanks to all who came to join and to check us out! If you liked what you saw and experienced, we invite you to become a bigger part of our group. Keep an eye out for meetings and updates on TIDN, BS, and in your email (if we have your address).

For those who joined on Wednesday ... THANK YOU! We feel we had a very successful night in getting new members. We can't wait for you to become a bigger part of what we're dreaming of! We will contact you shortly; we just took a little time off after breaking down very quickly after the game. If you don't hear from us by Monday the 25th, PM me on this board.

If you didn't/couldn't join on Wednesday, you can join at our next WP on Saturday, Sept. 6 (details later) or any time online at www.theamericanoutlaws.com

NOTE:

The AO team has had many conversations with many folks and group leaders about what we're doing, how we're doing it, and how it fits in with the overall soccer SG culture in Dallas. We are more than happy and very pleased to offer any suggestions/hints/advise/guidance that you feel is helpful for your group.

(We are also open to receiving constructive criticism; see new meeting thread.)

We strongly believe that any positive step and promotion of this (stupid) game we love is good for our own mission statement and (insofar as we understand them) the mission statements of other SGs like SA, Inferno, and FCD. Also, we think it is good for the overall promotion of the game of soccer and soccer SGs.

That being said, it is wearying to have the same conversation several times. Towards the end of sharing what we do with interested people, our team will be available after meetings and before events (WPs, etc.) for conversations about these things. We have every intention of sharing and being open as to the things we believe make SGs work. We are also happy to help you incorporate the parts and pieces of what we do into your group as you think they would be most helpful.

Thanks again for all the kind words ... we hope the first is the smallest in a long line of fun WPs as we all unite and strengthen behind our national team's path to the World Cup Final! w00t!
