no the USA vs Guatemala game will be played on ESPN 2

Although I am a devoted US Soccer fan, given my Guatemalan heritage I also root for los chapines. I am hoping that this time around they make it through. Its long over due. In the past its been painful to watch the meltdowns.

I expect that with the US up first, a tie would be acceptable. Guatemala should get all their points from the other two teams. But honestly, with the crappy US coach and overall mismanagement, I would not be the least bit surprised if Guatemala landed 3 points. Frankly, you'd be doing US Soccer a favor.

Its good to get one of the 2 hardest games out of the way in our first game. We can't misjudge the cubans and trinis becuase Guatemala tends to mess it up when the win is obviously there and most needed. Hopefully Maradiaga and members of the old Sele have learned from that. LIke the 3-2 los to Trinidad in the Hexagonal Final for Ger 06

Who cares what we done in the past. Today is a new day and this game will mark the begining of our trip to South Africa. I personally dont care if I am talking this right now and we loose and some jerk wants to rub it in my face that I talked this optimism. I live and die with my team and right now is the time to live and show our boys we have confidence in them. I rather be one of the first ones on the bus predicting the first world cup qualification....then jump on the bandwagon later on.

Good luck against the USA today. I know I gave you guys a rough time last cycle but thats in the past. I root for you guys since youre the only Central American team I happen to like.:cool:

Its good that youre seeing USA first as I think that it would be a psychological bonus to get that tough game out of the way very early. I will root for you the rest of the way except when you play against my teams.

Starting lineup will probably be 4-5-1. I hope they can stay compact first half and open up the second.

I expect to see Contreras, FGarcia, Pando, FThompson, Loco in the midfield with Contreras and Loco on the wings.

Defense? Flores has basically played every game under Maradiaga recently, so he's one of the central pairing - news papers have been saying that Luis Rodriguez is the other. I think that Tavo will be on the right or left, with Castrillo or Gallardo playing the other side.

If we have that lineup then we'll get some serious play through the midfield but I'm concerned about defense down the wings, especially with Contreras on the left.

I say this is a 1-1 tie. If we score first, Mateo Flores is going to be torn down by the fans.
