At first I didn't have clue what you were on about. we call them boxes over here.
No,I would say no outfield player would wear them. All that padding is an American thing.

Ok thanks for the answers.
But with all the wild and awkward kicks sometimes no one has being nailed in the nether regions with a stud or a boot.

indoor is so fast paced, i don't want to take a knock to my nuts and not be able to make a 2nd/3rd stop...plus if it hits my cup it'll get propelled outwards, instead of my balls trapping the ball in front of me .

I've been kicked everywhere else but the balls. I've had the ball hit me there a few times, but you just have to run it off.

Sure they could. They're useful for many other purposes too. ^_^
( I mean for soccer, of course. What were you thinking?! )

in a pretty important game, i made a stop with my nuts but unfortunately it rolled back out to an attacker in front of me and it slotted it home.
had it hit ANY other part, we wouldn't have conceded a goal.

Check him out, but don't report it to us okay.
In general players were jock straps and not cups.
There was a jock lined with a soft sponge they sold at one time. I thought it was a good idea, but evidently they went out of business.
I think if they brought it back in these times they would make a lot of money in the boys youth game.
