Before the crash I did predict that Colombia would fall to 15th place so I got that right.

Please explain that to me.... i think that they defeated a lot of countries and they deserve that good spot... besides wining in WC gives a lot of points....

Well just like I did not think Colombia should be number 4 when they were ranked that high, I do not believe the US should be number 9. They got many points for winning the Gold Cup just like Colombia did when they won the Copa America. I think this help inflate there ranking same as Colombia.

You know....a year ago I would of disagree with the ranking....I can proudly say that I change my mind....USA by far deserves to be in the top 10....
and the order in which the countries are ranked by far is the reality of soccer right now.

1 Brazil 859 1 0 3 2
2 Argentina 781 2 0 2 0
15 Colombia 688 9 -6 5 -10
19 Paraguay 674 18 -1 13 -6
24 Uruguay 657 23 -1 22 -2
31 Ecuador 636 31 0 37 6
50 Chile 547 45 -5 39 -11
52 Peru 545 48 -4 43 -9
72 Bolivia 497 74 2 69 -3
74 Venezuela 492 81 7 81 7

By just looking at southamerica....Brazil world Champs....(LIKE IT OR NOT)....
Argentina kicked a s s in the qualifying games....kicked a s s in the games before the WC....and did OK in the Group of death.....HOW COOL is it that we have the one/two best teams in the world.
After that it gets hairy...Colombia 15th....good...after all they are supposed to be the Conmebol Champs....that shows you that the Copa America of last year was a fluke....after being in the top 10 they fell so behind in so little time...they are going to keep falling.
Paraguay 19th....I think this is wrong...they should be before Colombia....this is the only country that has something to compete against the two best countries in the world....they should be third.
Uruguay and Ecuador are separated from the last three teams from the fact that they have played lots of games...Friendly games...and they have done well....so it's probably a true ranking....they had the advantage....and it should not take long for the other countries to catch up.
Chile, Bolivia and Peru deserve what they got....but not to worry...Colombia will join them soon.

I have to disagree next year Colombia gets to play in the Confederations Cup and if they do well there they will stay up in the rankings. Also I am sure they will start to play more friendlies to get ready for teh cup. So I don not see them falling to the deapths that Chile has fallen. Damn they got beat out by Venezuela in the WCQ.

well that is right... at least we didn't lost with venezuela.... we "almost" lost with them...

venezuela were a hard team to fight towards the end of the qualification
while most teams had inner problems they were playing for their qualification by qualification i mean to get out of 10th place

That is true but nobody should ever get beaten out by Venezuela.

Please!!!

All I can say is "special" circumstances....

1) Chile lost to Venezuela and ended up last in South America....Lack of players due to injury not only in that game but overall in the qualifying games....low moral, lack of coach, too many problems....I repeat....Weird year for Chilean soccer in General....too many problems...."Panic" or call it what you want......Chile was last in the WCQ because they beat themselves....you know...when things go wrong....THINGS GO WRONG!!!

2) Colombia "campeon de america"....another special circumstance....NO Argentina....not even the "C" team that every other country had....Lack of "dedication" by every other country....I repeat....Weird Cup overall....in general...the worst ever Copa America....that was something!!
Now you are saying that Colombia will do good in the confederations cup....HOW IN the HELL is that going to happen.....I don't even know who are the other champions, France?, Japan?, Camerun?....anyway, it does not matter when you don't even have a coach...or you haven't been playing competitive soccer for months...years....

Read my post again I said if they do well in the confederations cup.

I think the other teams are going to USA, France, Cameron, New Zealand, Brazil, the asian champ and the host.

The thing is unlike Chile they will actually have competative matches coming up.

Special circumstances sound like excuses to me. Anyways Colombia could of made the world cup if not for the special circumstance of Maturana screwing up the team.

no no....special circumstances about maturana screwing up the team???
get out....You should of definitely made the world cup as the Copa America "Champions"...the reason you didn't make it, was not because you had problems with the coach...it was because you had a "quality" problem....lack of quality...

I mean, they won copa america....right...they beat every country in the continent right??? "every" country....
So the coach was a hero...a national hero, because you had no trouble winning the cup.

So what happened....you just didn't make the worldcup because you couldn't compete against better teams...that's all....Maturana had nothing to do with Angel "scoring" problem....absolutely nothing...and Angel was not the only problem in the team....lack of quality players to play against better teams...that was your problem.
