I've been getting blisters, mainly on the front parts of my feet. It's always either blisters, or if I play too hard, I get a burning sensation. Does anyone have any experience with foot gels that are supposed to reduce friction and prevent blisters? Thanks.

What kind of boots do you have? Your boots might be to small or to big. It might also be athletes foot.

I have a pair of Umbro SX Flares. They're a little big (Half a size), but I've been doubling up my socks because my feet are still growing, and they need to last me my whole season.

i have exactly the same problem,
every time i get back from a match my feet are covered in blisters at the front of the ball of my foot, they are also very very deep, i havn't had any problems since i started using this cream i got from the chemist, Fucibet Cream, is what it is called but if your going to use it and you want it too work than you have to make sure the blisters have healed until you play again, you use it for 3 months afterwards aswel, it hardens your feet up its very good stuff :)

ive never actually gotten blisters at the front of my feet, only around my heel area. but i read in another thread someone suggesting dipping your feet in warm salty water as it makes your skin harder and forms a callous, preventing future blisters. you should also try wrapping your foot up with medical tape, and put a little vaseline where your blisters are, thats what i used to do with my blisters that i got at my heels and seemed to work. oh and obviously you should pop your blisters before doing this lol

I have only used vaseline once when playing football and that is one of the only times when I didn't get them. What you do is basically cover the area where you usually gwet them and then put your socks straight on it works as my mates do it all the time and they never complain of blisters.

the salt trick the guy mentioned earlier really works well. i really wouldn't recommend doing it with open blister. i was out a week from doing it with open blisters because it hurt so much to even walk. if you do it for maybe 4 days a week for 2 weeks u will have pretty big calluses. the calluses to get to a point that they are to big to be comfortable in any boots with. so you might have to rub them off with sand paper of cut them with scissors. and use epsom salt, not your regular cooking salt.

I have the SX flares and do not have the problem that you mentioned but mine fit nicely. I would try some sort of insole but have you been wearing cleats in the past few months or just started playing again. I don't take off much time and I'm actually trying to break in 3 pairs of boots
V1.08, SX Flares, and some Umbro SG's

Blisters around the heel area are usually a sign of simply bad fitting boots if they continue after the boots are broken in. With the exception of the Mizuno Ghost Striker that have a very grippy lining that took about 2-3 weeks to break in, none of the shoes I play in gave me heel blisters ever, despite the fact that I have a heel spur on one of my feet. I'd suggest you examine the cushioning around the heel cup and see whether the boots are just not padded well enough. It happened to my Lotto Stadio that simply did not have sufficient padding and kept giving me blisters no matter how long I tried to break them in. I even exchanged my original pair for a new one, and still no improvement. So I returned them.

If you're stuck with the boots, try experimenting with putting duct tape inside the shoe to cushion it more, or even a thin layer of sponge-like material. Vaseline is helpful but it get absorbed/rubbed off relatively quickly. A much better alternative is Blister Shield--a special powder runners use, which you pour into your socks, and which helped me tremendously with blisters on my toes that were always plaguing me. You can get it at any good running store, or from www.2toms.com (http://www.2toms.com) They also make a special glide-on (idea more similar to vaseline but way more durable and slippery). Avoid cotton socks as they absorb moisture and increase friction. Double layer of elastic socks should help as well. Good luck.

I saw on the Milan - Juventus game of last night that Seedorf switched from Lotto to Adipures.

ok i cant make my own topic so ill post in here. i have two new pairs of boots, adipure in 11 and the total 90 laser in 11. adipures hurt my heel VERY badly after about 20 minutes. the lasers hurt the skin under my big toe. i blame the insoles on the lasers btw, they have rings in them that only cause more friction. anyways the last time i got blisters on my heel was when i bought the nike vapor II K's about 5 years ago. after that i had vapor II's, predators, air legends, total 90 supremacy, predators again, etc all with no blisters at all. my skin is so hard in some spots i can litterally stab myself with a knife and not feel a thing. also they look disgustiing because of my deep calluses. anyways im wondering does anyone have these same problems and how to fix them? i havent yet tryed vasoline but will do so tomorow.
