Update: Gibbs has made it official that he is coming to MLS, but the odd MLS allocation rules and Gibbs' desire to play for New England are holding up the deal, much like the Brian McBride deal did, reports Ives Galarcep of ESPNsoccernet.com.
Analysis: The MLS has some problems with this allocation rule. It's absurd really. Los Angeles grabbed Eddie Lewis over Gibbs, despite their desperation at defense, and Colorado and New England are dueling over Gibbs.
