Selection for Song Book

Gentleman, Army members, and all the rest of ya. ;)

Two things have inspired be to start this particular thread, the suggestion of a pocket songbook by Twometers, based on the Railhawks model, and an attempt I made last night to write the lyrics of Nora Joness LoneStar on a Texian flag I attached to a flag pole.

I was asked, by the family, if a decision had even been made to make Lonestar our official Club/Team Song Candidate song. I couldn't say soo that bit of uncertainty, combined with Twometer's suggestion, have led me to call for nominations from all those who even give a damn ;) of ONE Song and ONE Chant to either be worked on, or too be placed in an Army Pocket Song book should one be created.

I request that the lyrics of the song and the Chant be included, along with the pros you have found regarding it's relation to the team/state/Army etc. and when and how you invision it to be sung at matches.

Pros/Argument For:
It is sung by a Texas native who I beleive is not the greatest hater of fottball.

It hasn't been taken by anyother team, in or out of state, as far as I know.

Its simple and the first verse repeates limiting the number of words that have to be remmemberd.

It's patriotic.

Its just as good as any Delilah/Walk Alone Song out their.

Well yes I know people have been posting ideas for awhile now.

I just created this thread soo that we could consolidate, and narrow down, some of the ones we like more than others. And also to get some lyrics to some of these affore mentioned songs on the boards soo people can at least work on some of them at their own leazure at least.

Just a quick word of advice, try to keep everything simple. If you're gonna do complex shit, make sure you've practiced it and that everybody knows the words/tune. Otherwise you'll look like complete ********ups :D

Way too obscure a combination, but the flag I've suggested we use is the Navy's signal flag for the number 7. But I like obscure shit.
