Update: Berbatov is reported to be close to joining Manchester United for a fee of around £28 million, the London Evening Standard reports.
Analysis: This deal has been rumored all summer long, and if it finally goes through, Tottenham might scramble to find another forward. They are believed to be interested in two Russian forwards, Andrei Arshavin and Roman Ravlyuchenko, as possible replacements for Berbatov. Meanwhile, Berbatov would join a stacked United team that will be dangerous up front with Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez, and Berbatov leading the attack.
