Is the game on the 20th being shown live on TV? I see Sportsnet has it on at 11 PM Eastern but that's sort of irritating.

I believe that sportsnet has exclusive rights to the game and it will only be played at 11pm. The Jays are playing the Yankees at 7pm and that will take priority as it should draw over 300K viewers.

People actually still watch the Blue Jays?

Still pretty sad when our national team is still such a low priority in this year when we stand a real chance to make the World Cup, especially when the Euro Cup took such priority when it was on.

I know our national team is not the calibre as was seen in the Euro Cup, but it shows the sport has a real audience in this country, but they're not there for our own team?

Absolutely disgusting.

The team is playing AT HOME. In a WORLD CUP QUALIFIER. Yet, all 4 channels have to show Blue Jays? Or are the other channels showing poker? Billiards? Lets show Gerry Dobson eating dinner instead of soccer, why don't we?

I vaguely remember a similar situation before, and emailing Sportsnet got it to change. Any way we can knock some sense into these losers?

Well, it's not entirely Sportsnet's fault. Sadly, there aren't enough people interested enough to prompt them to change. There are lots of soccer fans in this country, but very few people care enough about our Men's National Team. They think it's too low brow.

Some point at immigrants for this, but I know many Canadian born people who are the same. 2nd, 3rd+ generation even.

I mean, to chat about our team, this forum is my only option to find others who are interested.

Of course, if we make it to WC2010, watch for all of these people to jump on the bandwagon.

I would say that immigrants are more likely to watch, just a hunch.

But either way, how do they expect to generate interest when they show a HOME game at 11PM at night. Ridiculous!
