View Full Version : Emile Heskey Is Europes Most Natural Faller-Over

But he's being challenged for his crown by Van Nistelroy, the boy Owen ('The Argie defender breathed on me!'), and Franny 'Jug-ears of doom' Jeffers.
None of them come close to Heskey, who can fall over when opposing players are several feet, nay! tens of yards from him.

Emile's earnt me some big points in my fantasy team
in the last couple of weeks.
Therefore i cannot concur with this disgraceful slur you have alluded to.
In recent weeks Em has managed to stay on his pins with no trouble.
Confidence equals not falling over......
Would you have preferred he didnt come on against Macedonia?
Emile has been overtaken with aplomb by the filthy gallic surrender monkey Pires, and the old favourite RVN in the falling down stakes.
Jeffers will haunt Moyes as a distinctly crap signing, the jug eared chimp.

Please tell me the last time you have seen Heskey make a blatant dive. And don't come forth with any old foul commited against him. I want a clear-cut case that pretty much everyone agrees was a dive.

The charge that Heskey dives is an absolute joke. Granted he gets knocked over a lot, but that is because he is sometimes clumsy and more typically because he has tons other players draped all over him - it almost never happens in a scoring type situation.
When is the last time you saw Emile appeal for a penalty after getting knocked over? When is the last time he even laid on the ground a long time? He always pops right back up and starts playing again.
For crying out loud, he got knocked over this week and responded by scoring the game-winning goal when he was practically on his back. I don't think that is typical behavior from a diving player.
Emile Heskey has his faults, but there is simply no more honest, hard-working, fair-playing football player in the EPL. That is why even though he doesn't score many goals, he is still one of the most-loved players (depending on the fan) at LFC.
Try again chum head. I guess a Spurs fan would know all about falling down, because that is what your sorry team does every week (an out-of-form Liverpool being the one exception:) and you really should beat us when we are out-of-form, because we are awful in those rare occurances).

For a big fella he allows himself to get knocked off the ball to easily, more often than not ending up on his backside.

I definitely agree with that...

There is a significant difference between being a hard-working, somewhat clumsy player and a cheating player. Although we know which one the typical Gooner would prefer.

No, not at all, just calling out crap comments when I see them. Emile Heskey does not dive. As pointed out earlier, he is clumsy.

Its true. He doesn't dive. He's a very honest player.
Note, however, that I said he's Europes most natural faller-over, not Diver.
Bless him!

I was responding to your "A bit sensitive" comment. It was natural for my fellow 'Pool fan to take offense when jarhead accused Heskey of diving. That doesn't make me an idiot.
Sorry that I "quoted" your whole post, when it was only the "A bit sensitive" part that I meant to respond to.
I am glad that you recognize the difference between Heskey's clumsiness and diving.

Been sitting in front of that drawing board yourself, lately (apart from a lousy Greek team) eh goaty? How many points have ya'll managed out of the last 3 - 4 league matches?
Besides, we were only really out of form once last season - problem being that low spot lasted for over 10 games. And while we we were in the funk we were indeed awful, as I mentioned in the post you quoted.

What have people got against poor emily.. :(
sure hes not the worlds most talanted, or exciting footballer.. He doesnt have one of the most prolific strike rates around, but he does one thing, that any fan should rate pretty highly on there list...
He works ******** Hard...
And ok..maybe hes a little unstable on his feet, but thats cos hes usually got some arsenal short**** trying to trip him over....

I used to actually call hesky ,footballs most expensive red herring, bbecause of his inahbility to get service and blow it when it he got it.but recently he has just outhustled his entire team, and off of owens draught last year he seems
a lot less Herringlike.

Well, obviously McNeill, Houllier and Sven must be shite managers in picking Heskey for their teams...
oh wait, they are 3 of the most respected managers in the game.
It amazes me when other teams' fans have a go at Heskey for falling over - obviously selective memories occur when their players DIVE and cheat, one thing Emile cannot be accused of.
Maybe they should concntrate on supporting their own clubs instead of trying to bash most successful one.

Who the hell is McNeill? And I never called him a diver, I called him a 'Faller-over.' Which he is. And he does. A lot.
