With a top individual salary of say, $100.000 could you put a team together of current MLS players who could win the MLS Cup..?? You could start with Bornstein and Cooper and go from there....or you could start with anyone you want.

Holden at $33k springs to mind
The team's salary would have to be at least $500k though to even field a squad

Another Dynamo, Bobby Boswell is also at $33k and having a really solid season. I'm guessing both Stuart and Boswell will be moving on from MLS soon.

FCD's Dominic O'Duro (another on about $33k) could certainly make an 18 man squad.

Hope he has a decent agent and is not on a long term deal....seems like a total steal at $33k.

Robbie Rogers at $57k would have to be on the team. I'd also take Gonzalo Segares at $58k.

I would pay Stuart Holden 33K to mow my lawn, that guy can play. Can you imagine if a team in England saw this kid, and wanted to find out what he made? He makes what 16,ooo quid each year. How will we ever come up with that kind of money?
I made more money answering phones when I got out of college. Wow.

Kenny Cooper -- 83K.. perhaps biggest steal in the league considering his output, as scoring leader (tied with landy).
the 8th place player in scoring, Chad Barrett, would only cost you 61K.

They know about him in England. He was signed by Sunderland when he was 18 or 19. He got badly beaten in some random street attack so they released him to come home and recover. I'll bet he has some Euro offers in the works.

Bobby Boswell, Scott Sealy and Chad Barrett are free agents after this season.

From NYRB, Dane Richards only makes 30K and he definitely deserves more than that.

There's gotta be a better goalie for under 33k. I bet Busch is less than 100k.

I remember that, wrong place, wrong time sorta thing IIRC. He seems to have recovered very well and is a first class player that MLS should reward with a new deal. No doubt in my mind that a very competitive squad could be put together for less than Red Bull paid a 33 year old, always injured Claudio Reyna...($1.2m)

Good job, repped. I'd fancy the chances of that squad to win MLS Cup.

Here's a full team I put together back in April when the numbers were first released, the best possible team IMO following all the roster rules that teams have to abide by:
