First things first. We should all give ourselves a big pat on the back for a well run draft. There were no long bouts of inactivity and we got through the draft in an exceptionally quick time seeing as it was our first on this forum. Also it was trouble free so a big thanks to one and all for that.
Now to the main reason why this thread was made -
This is for any chat regarding the draft now that its over and also for any transfers to be made before the season starts.
Feel free to chat about drafting strategies or teams in general. For instance, if you feel the need to complement my team, as many of you will most likely, then do it here. Don't worry about going overboard in the praise. I'm more than happy to take it all. :D
As for the transfers, well thats a tad more complicated.
From the draft thread the last pick was made today at 1pm UK time. No-one can make any changes for 24hrs, which is 1pm UK time on Tuesday 12th August.
Any transfers that people wish to make after that must be registered first and foremost in the new thread that is on our league on the FPL website. It's first come first served so please check to see after posting that someone hasn't beaten you by the slimmest of margins. Any transfer requires the following info to be posted,
1) Player being transferred out including club, pos, value
2) Player being transferred in including club, pos, value
3) Balance before and after transaction
e.g.
ChrisSuttonsSlippers
Player Out - Nasri - Arsenal - M - 7.5
Player In - Deco - Chelsea - M - 9.0
Balance before - 2.5
Balance after - 1.0
After you've made the transfer on the official FPL forum please add it on to here as a courtesy to everyone else.
Once the season starts there will be a new transfer thread posted for every new week on our forum in the FPL site every Sunday evening. We must try and keep up to date with transfers so there will be no duplication of players. Everyone did a great job in the draft in this respect so I'd imagine the same will happen for transfers during the season.
Transfers are unlimited until the season begins then after that we are allowed 1 per week and then it costs 4 points for every one per week after that. Transfers not used do not carry over to the next game week.
We also have a wild card transfer. Here is the instruction for that from the FPL website -
You can play 1 transfer wild card a season. All transfers made in the Gameweek your wild card is played will be without points deduction. You play your wild card when confirming transfers.
Short and sweet. Basically I think it just means for one week only if you use your joker transfer you can make as many transfers as you like at no cost rather than just one.
I will be creating the first transfer forum thread on our official FPL Dust league shortly as I will not be near a computer at 1pm UK time tomorrow but please don't post any transfers on it until the freeze is finished or I will delete them and they'll be null and void.
Good luck to all and hopefully a senior member from the other Rocks threads will give this a quick onceover to make sure it's all ok.

During the season in a gameweek. How soon can we transfer once the matches have started?
Typically, one can transfer for the following gameweek once the first of the current game week has started and is locked. Then the transfers go for the following game week.

The pre-season thread I've created already on our forum covers up to the first gameweek.
I will then start the next transfer thread in the official forum right after that one ends.
So the next one will be made for Gameweek2 on the 16th Aug at 11:31 UK time.
That way everyone knows when it starts and it stops me from having an unfair advantage.
Sound ok to everyone?

If that time is unsuitable then I'm willing to make a set time every Sunday to start a new transfer thread that suits everyone.
That's if I'm on the right track regarding making a new thread for each gameweek, which I think I am.
Remember, I'm knew at this as well. :o
Oh and Dear_Claudio will be posting a full list of squads on here for everyone to peruse. :)

yep excellent draft one and all - who spent the most on attackers? midfielders? defenders?
Congratulations on completing your first time draft following the "All Rocks Draft procedures." You all did a fine job.
Some good administration points in the previous posts.
As to what to post for player transactions, the third item is usually entitled: "In the bank." It's the amount of salary cap you have available AFTER the trade. We don't monitor what you had in the bank before the transfer.
Rather that put the burden on the League administrator for the weekly transfer thread during the season, usually the first manager to post a transfer creates that game-week's transfer thread.
Be advised, I think you can transfer for a player (to go on next week's roster) as soon as the transfer window closes. A couple of managers, who shall remain nameless, traded away a quality player who was injured or had no game that week right before the transfer deadline to get an active player for that week and then, traded back for the 'released' quality player a few minutes later, under the next week's transfer window.
This is a highly risky strategy. First, you end up using the following week's free transfer so that any additional transfers the next gameweek cost you points and the financial penalties. If the player had increase in value since your acquisition, you may not have enough cash to reacquire him after FPL takes their cut. Also, other managers might swoop for your released player and beat you to the reacquisition punch.

This is correct.
The best way to do this is have the person who does the first transfer each gameweek start the new thread. No need to wait for Fraser to do it.

that clears that up. cheers Hal.

again. thanks for clearing that point up as well.

that does sound like a high risk strategy.
if you've got the money in the bank and get away with it then i'm sure it brings dividends, especially for that gameweek but it does come at a price.

Big keeper from last season wasn't even selected. I already have 3 players from that certain team so I won't be making a move. Unless injuries or unexpected transfers hit in the next few days I think I'll be using my drafted team for at least one week.

If you have Excel:

If you only have Word:

I would suggest using these to keep track of everyone's teams throughout the course of the season. I wish I knew how blech coded his posts, but I will make an attempt to actually post all the team's for the oohs and aahs.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR TEAM IS EXACTLY HOW I HAVE IT LISTED.

you have my squad list correct.
interesting to see nearly everyone spent their full allocation.
in all seriousness i'm slightly worried regarding my midfield.
players i had earmarked disappeared and i need Cole and Nasri to be key components in their respective clubs starts to the season. which is by no means definite.
on the other hand,
i'm delighted with my keepers, defence and strikers at my disposal.
i'd have loved to have done a move tomorrow but won't be online until about 5hrs after the freeze period ends which will probably scupper any chance i had.
still, plenty more fish in the sea.

I'm actually fine with my team for the first week. I may switch my captain as Tevez may own Newcastle in week 1 :)

Fraser,
Like that you switch your images. You will be glad to know that I go to a Celtic bar of the LA area to view the matches the noontime champions league and eurocup matches.
I once made the mistake to watch Rangers. they were playing Barcelona and there was more than one screen. The bartender pointed to a cartoon with a guy peeing on the Rangers jersey.
Yes your midfield has problems.
But my defense is a sieve and I am not sure what that Neville character will do with the ManU back line

my line-up is as is - i can't see myself making any changes for week 1, especially as rooney should be fit based on a report i read yesterday morning. good for an assist or three against newcastle - hmmmm, maybe i should make sure taylor isn't on my firs 11 tomorrow!
