With the Olympics, MLS and the start of European soccer, it seems like the world’s most watched game is taking over. Now more than ever it seems harder to find a channel showing the game you are interested in. This happened to me yesterday when I was trying to find a channel that was showing the Manchester United game.
Normally I head over to livesoccertv.com, a site that has the most accurate soccer listings for American and Canadian viewers. However, now with the plethora of games going on, and channels now specializing in soccer, it took me a long time to find the Manchester United game among all the other.
Upset with this development, I set about creating a script so that I will never have to deal with this issue again.So today with the help of greasemonkey, atleast users that own firefox will be able to add some customization to whats displayed on the fixtures page.
Installation Procedure (Follow this order):
Get Firefox
Get Greasemonkey(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748)
Install the script(http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/31551)
Modify the script to include your channels and configure options. This is done by right clicking on the monkey on the bottom right of firefox. Select Manage User Scripts. Choose "livesoccertv channel sorter" and click edit. Scroll down to where it says edit here and configure the variables to suit your needs. Everything should be pretty self explainatory from here. If you need more details visit http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/31551 and that will explain what each parameter does.
There are more features to come, including an easier editing option, as well as fixing the known highlighting issues. Also, if a lot of people use it and enjoy it, I might make it into an addon so you don't have to use greasemonkey at all!
