Ronaldo supplying is no suprise. He was doing that plenty the last two seasons, just now guys are finishing when he does.

Ex-f***Kin-actly. He could have had 20 assists last season if our players, mainly Rooney and Tevez, weren't so goddam wasteful. The number of times he put in perfectly playable balls.... Now the players are finally taking advantage of it and becoming a tad more clinical, which is good to see.

Right, I mean he could have had 42 - 15 realistically last season...

2 Seasons ago he went 20 and 20 if I am not mistaken.

He could have had 25 assists last year with ease... 30 would not have been out of the question. Rooney and Tevez missed at least 1 sitter a game from Ronaldo it seemed.

THey need to create a new statistic for hold play. Perhaps passes received in attacking zone and passes completed? I just think Berba's good work needs quantification!

If people start finishing chances, it would be easily quantifiable:)

Good call on Ronaldo - that has been the biggest difference between him now and two years ago. His head is up and his passing has been very dangerous.

I know its useless to dream, but how awesome would it be if Ronaldo could improve his goal performance this year by 10%, and then improve his crossing and supplying another 10%, and then have a striker finish all of them?! If you thought last years total goal tally was amazing, imagine what it could be this year.

Ronaldo is the first to complete the right, left, header triumverate.

We're not Liverpool! :P

Good to see Rooney scoring again. It seems like his whole game is upped a level when he's in these sort of form. A goal, and two assists. Should've really gotten 2.. oh well, can't have it all.

In spirit, sure, but show me a clip where he got the touch that sent it over the line...

it could even be argued that the first deflection of his touch guided it into the net.

I'm being a pest, but I say you credit Fletcher with it. The league has ruled and so have we.

For what it's worth, there is no need for the last touch over the line for it to be the goalscorer's touch.

If the shot was headed towards the goal before deflection, then it belongs to the attacking player. An own goal is generally given when a defender or keeper take the ball from a position of no danger and score it. IE, redirecting a cross or turning in a shot that was headed wide. Almost as a rule, a shot towards the goal (even if deflected) is not called an own goal. Hell, if you're interpretation were right Lampard and Deco would have a combined total of 7 goals for the last 3 years of play. :)

Crikey, I cannot believe Nani squeezed that ball in like that, but when he had basically a greater oppertunity against Albania, he fudges it...:(
