I know its only the first game of the season, but does anyone else feel that there new found optimism for the new season has been repalced with a feeling of here we go again?!
I have to admit though I only managed to see the last fifteen minutes, the feed I had was unwatchable till then! So any feedback from anyone who managed to see it would be appreciated!

Exactly how I feel too. I was thinking it's ridiculous to be so down after the first game of the season but you can't help but feel it's here we go again!
I couldn't find a working link so i didn't see the game but I can imagine it was the usual lackluster performance we're used to.
If we don't start winning how long before Le Guen comes under pressure? Last season he had the excuse of poor players but he doesn't have that luxury now!

No, PSG was good during the first half but felt down during the second half. We knew before the game that Giuly and Makelele were just back from injuries and wouldn't be in their best shape. I'm still not convinced by fielding both Clement and Makelele, though.
We should keep in mind that Sessegnon was suspended. It was a big blow for PSG. He was the best player on MUC72 side and will help our midfield to be most agressive and sharper.
We gave up a goal on a silly defensive mistake and Sahko is mostly responsible of this. He misread the trajectory of the cross. It's not the first time he is doing mistakes and that's why PLG wants a CB. He isn't ready to be a starter at PSG. Hopefully, it'll be Basa or another défenseur d'envergure as PLG said.
Anyway our main problem was our forwards. Pancrate offers some opportunities with his physical abilities but he is technically limited. Our midfielders could find him deep pretty easily but he misses passes he shouldn't miss and so on... However the real negative point was Hoarau's performance. He's the one i'm really worried about. He hasn't the strenght to success in L1. He couldn't answer when he was physically challenged even on long ball. He lost the ball pretty easily as well...I hope he'll improve otherwise Kezman will replace him.
I'm not worried though. Sessegnon + Kezman not here, Giuly + Makelele out of shape. We'll need a few games to be good. It's not a surprise.
That's just my opinin anyway...

I thought both teams actually played decently, was not a bad match.

Maybe I was too quick off the mark with my criticism. After two seasons of struggle and the scoreline I just assumed it was the typical PSG performance of the past.
I think they really need to win the next game to put the past seasons behind them, otherwise the demons could return.

Thanks Nicolas, You have made me feel more positive now.

I am disappointed because the game should have ended with a draw.
We owned Monaco during the first half, but as things went on, our new recruits were clearly not ready for a whole game, and with a lack of depth on the bench, Monaco, a feeble side, managed to stick a lucky goal in past Sakho. Not to worry. What we lacked up front is exactly what Sessegnon will bring.
Soon we will have Make and Giuly in top shape. We will have Sessegnon return. With some luck, we might even get Kezman to play a minute or two.
We should be able to beat Bordeaux.
The season has only just begun.

Bordeaux are still the better team so Im not sure why you "should" beat them.

France was stronger, that didn't stop them from losing to Scotland twice.
We haven't had the best of results lately against Bordeaux, but we should be able to beat them. Over 90 minutes, if we are in the right conditions, I don't see why we should not be able to win that game.

Just finished watching the game on www.psg.tv ...
I am getting this feeling too, but I am heartened that the overall game was relatively even. Monaco may have had the better of it the last 20-30 minutes, but PSG had some impressive spurts of control earlier in the contest.
Of course a win next week against a really good team at home would go a long ways to forgetting this loss and forgetting the pessimism of last season.

I'm still pissed about the result. We should have had a draw and dersevedly so but the kid - "Sakho" made another kid error. He's making the same mistakes and it's getting tired. We could use another CB but it's a catch 22. As much as I'd like to see him sit, he's only going to get better by playing and unfortunately when he screws up, it may cost us a match here and there. I was actually hoping that LeGuen would have subbed Traore for Sakho near the end of the match. Sakho tends to make mistakes like he did Saturday at the end of matches. A lack of concentration - typical of young players. I am high on Thuram Version 2.0 and feel that we'll benefit from his play later in the season.
I agree with most of what Nicolas N. said earlier although there are a few things I'd like to add. Giuly and Makelele were great. Giuly's runs and work is a great example of why we got him and hopefully the younger players are learning from him. We really missed Sessegnon and I think once he's in the line up this week-end, Pancrate and Hoarau will play much better. I think we'll get at least a dozen goals from Giuly this season. Rothen was ok, I've seen him play better and am not losing sleep over his play. Same can be said about Armand. The more I think about it, once Sessegnon is on the field with Rothen, Makelele and Giuly, something very, very good should happen. We gotta get another forward.
We've got to be patient with this group, I think when it's all said and done, we'll be there.
A+,
