So is Ligue 1 going to be on Setanta (in the U.S.) this year? Taking a look at their schedule for the first two weekends of Ligue 1 play http://www.setantaus.com/en/NA/Our-Schedules/, there is not a single Ligue 1 game scheduled to be televised, not even on a delayed basis.  :(

EDIT:
forget everything I wrote
TV5 will show a game this saturday.
But since it's a multiplex, nobody knows what exactly they will show most.
Still, a good thing
And this should teach me for not checking my email for more than 24 hours, damn summer could have made me miss a game :D

I think you can get it with Direct TV.
Gotham, I'm pretty sure I saw that they'll be focussing on the Monaco-PSG game.

Unfortunately no, it's just on Dish. (I have DirecTV and it's not available)

So does anybody know the status of 2008-09 Ligue 1 games being shown on Setanta?

I was checking the schedules too and I couldn't find anything. I don't know why there aren't any ligue 1 games, but I do know that Setanta still has rights to ligue 1, so I'm still optomistic they will be showing matches this season.

Well, for what it's worth I put Ligue 1 as the #1 reason I subscribe to Setanta on the survey they asked me to fill out when I visisted their site (the EPL just doesn't do anything special for me and they rarely have any live SPL games).

TV5Monde is also on most Comcast systems as an internatal "al la carte" offering. This week they have Monaco/PSG at noon Pacific.

Well, I'm going to subscribe to www.psg.tv like I did the majority of last year so I can at least watch all the games for one team (and Paris is the only French city I've ever been to and I really enjoyed it there, so that's why I've chosen PSG as my French team). Games may not be live but they are as-live available starting at midnight European time (7 p.m. ET) the day of the game. And there's no danger whatsoever of knowing the score, no matter how long you have to wait before watching a game, which I really like and is really important to me.

The average salary of the English second division is almost the one of the Ligue 1 :D

I'm going to be upset if they don't have L1 in America.

I dont think they will. I think I pissed them off when I was grilling them about advertising a match they diddnt have the rights for a few weeks ago. The Aston Villa Intertoto cup second leg.

What do you know a response!
"Apparently, they are still trying to negotiate a deal. We hope it will
happen soon, but not sure. Keep an eye on our website, and sorry for being
so vague."
