We need to determine a starting time for the draft now. I'll be posting a PM to every manager with this link so we can get cracking as soon as.

Apologies to Ryan. Just trying to keep this ticking along.

A couple of things -


1) Please PM the next person in the draft after you have made your pick.

2) Once the first pick is made the premierleague.com database will be frozen.

We'll need someone to post a captured link of it then.

i'll be logging off in around 30mins-1hr though but will check back on again in around 5hrs time.

i'll be out tonight watching the hoops (:)) from around 1pm EST until 6pm EST, which i think equates to 6pm-11pm BST.

then i'll be on into the wee small hours again.

EDIT: the hoops means Celtic btw and not some basketbally thing.

Great Job Everyone for getting organized, registered, determined draft order, and are ready to start!

May I suggest, as new managers, you include both the Team Name and the (BigSoccer nickname) in your draft thread. Send a PM using the BigSoccer Nick of the person to pick after you when you make your pick. It is also helpful if you exchange phone numbers with the person who picks before and after you so you can give them a call in addition to the PM. Helps keep the draft moving and helps gather info on manager's absences for living their life (work, sleep, etc)

The top two teams in the Dust League 2008_9 Table at the end of the season get promoted to the Sand League. In addition, depending on the number of managers in the other league who do not elect to continue the following season, more of you, in order of the season finish, may get promoted.

i think we should start around 7pm Eastern time tomorrow. which is midnight in the UK.

not sure how that holds up for West Coast guys. is it around 4pm? possibly a tad too early?

I'm OK to go as things are but I agree with starting tomorrow at midnight BST, roughly 19 hours from now.

Will it just be a rolling draft or will we have it in discrete time slots. Also, how long does a person get before they lose their turn?

It starts in a go-slow phase so there is no skipping. I have no qualms about posting my cell number btw. I am fine with starting tomorrow but I have work 8pm to 2am EST (1am-7am UK time).

If that's the case, I don't see why we shouldn't just start now. It doesn't really serve a purpose to wait until tomorrow if you're ready and nobody will be punished by not being online. I'll be up for a while yet, so if the first two picks are made, I'll be good to go.

Looks like I am stuck in the middle.

I was watching the other draft threads today. It seemed to go quick during the late afternoon to evening GMT time.

I am on the west coast - California and got to watch all of the Eurocup at lunch time.

I think it is ok to get started. I will be checking at 10 am eastern time or 4pm GMT time and will be pretty constant on the thread for 8 hours or so.

since everyone has replied on the thread and are happy to get it rolling then we should just start with Dear_Claudio picking whenever he is ready.

as mentioned above, its a go-slow phase and i see no need for time constraints at this minute as all managers are active.

i think there are only two based in the UK and i have wrap-around picks and Gordon is online a lot of the time so that shouldn't cause any problems.

Almost 6am here now and time for sleep. I doubt it will get around to me quickly but I'll be around 2pm-8pm EST and then 2am-6am.
