Ok first off for those of you who heard me talk about it, and especially for Cris who probably has my napkin scribble of a design somewhere in his trousers still, you know what i'm talkin about but I would like ta get the opinions, and other ideas if there our any, of the rest of the Army.
The Army should, needs, and at the least could use a coat of arms to make it more legit looking, and just ta give us something cool ta make into either a flag, or a banner, or just something for the website:).
Here's my design, in words so not as good as a picture, and the manings of the different parts.
A slightly Triangular shield with rounded out ends, split into two smaller thirds at the top and one longer one below by white lines.
The top left third bares a white skull on a red field, representing our first loyalty, and that is to the Army itself as a whole and as a community.
The top right third bares a white Aztec pyramid on a white and Red Striped field representing our second loyalty, and that would be to the Aztec team and its organization as a community.
And in the longer, bottom, third two white arms on a red field toching at the finger tips and supporting a red and white striped organ like heart, with a small gold five pointed star above it.This, as a whole, represents our third and final loyalty. To ourselves and to our fellow Soldier Warriors within the army.
What you lads think? And of course feel free to add your own tweeks, ajustments, and your own completely knew designs if the idea of us having a coat of arms strikes your artistic, and inspirational, fancy at all.

Oh and I forgot, duh thats just the shield I described lol.
Supporting the left of the shield a White, Aztec, Eagle and supporting the right of the shield a jaguar. These of course represent the two main groups of Aztec "knights" or ellite warriors within the Aztec Empire.
Above the shield is a womans head wearing a crown of cactus spikes with it's shadow covering her eyes, and a sort of mantel of feathers and thorns extending to the left and right of her head and above the shield, incompasing it's left and right corners. This of course is Chantico herself.
By the sides and bottom point of the shield, and between the supporting Animals and the sides of the shield, is a laural bower similar to the one seen on the mexican eagle flag.
And finally a Red scroll with our Armies motto, in gold letters, sits at the base of the shield within the confines of the laural.
And of course this isn't offical but my suggested motto for our Army is "Carpe Diem" Latin for "Seize the Day"

Sounds really cool! Maybe throw a dog or red snake in there somewhere because those are the forms that Chantico takes.

Or perhaps… cave canem "beware of the dog"
or at least…
cave nil vino "beware of running out of wine" :)

I like Latin and all, but how about Guárdese del perro rojo ... Spanish for beware of the red dog ( i know the Chantico legend doesn't say RED dog, but c'mon what other color dog would she be? :) )
Otherwise, nice Alejo, very nice. I like the coat of arms idea a lot.

Good motto, but I'm never without beer!! (Perish the thought...)
I think we should work it into a chant, though.

Once again, I say to myself, "I really need to take Spanish lessons."

"We came to drink beer ass here and kick, parézcase to are outside beer"
...hm. I'm not sure I want to 'drink beer ass'.
...and I'm certain I don't want to announce that on our coat of arms.

I'll second Violet's sentiment. Although I drank some beer that tasted like ass when I was in high school, I'd like to think I was way clear of those days.

I'm no Spanish expert, but I gather it's a variant of the They Live quote:
We have come here to drink beer and kick ass, and we're all out of beer.
I still have the napkin scribble and was looking at mocking up something in Photoshop, but only got so far as finding some heraldry clip art. Then maybe an actual artist could take it and do it right. Don't know that I'll get to finishing that anytime soon, though, so hopefully someone will take the idea and run with it.

Ok, obviously there are at least a few of u, beside me, who think it's a good idea.:p
And as for the snakes and dog, and motto.
How about a couple of red snakes intwined in Chanticos feathery, thorny, mantel and a dogs head in place of the skull.

Can you you scan/photograph the napkin and send me (info@chanticosarmy.com)the image Duality? If you can, then I'll post the image at the Chantico's Website with a call for artists to help render it beyond the cocktail napkin stage.

I think if we're gonna seize something it should be "Carpe pedifollem" - Seize the football.
Someone with more than one semester of latin may want to check on the declension of 'pedifollis'.
