Update: Reports are stating that Tottenham is preparing to make a record €40 million bid to Valencia for David Villa, Goal.com reports.
Analysis: Tottenham, who have already made a plethora of changes to their lineup, are set to finance the deal by selling forward Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United. Though this bid seems conditional and highly unlikely, the €40 million offer, which would be an English transfer record, could be too much for Valencia to pass on.
