Didn't see this posted. Goal.com is not always the most reliable source, but the article indicates Jacob Lensky has left the club to return to Canada for "personal reasons". Does anyone have any more detail?

Articles posted on the Voyageurs site say he's quitting professional football. Might have to do with an "illness". Hope he gets better.

Hopefully it's nothing serious. With any luck his "quitting" professional football means he's decided to go to University. If so I think he'd have to sit out a year before being allowed to play in the CIS. At least that's the way I think it works for CHL players who decide to play CIS Hockey.

Lenski is indeed returning to Canada. The Staff of Feyenoord told that Lenski wanted to return to Canada out of personal reasons and regrett his leaving.
I already wondered where he was the last week.

That would be interesting if he wasn't already in Camp with the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Also, it seems he left Feyenoord because he burnt out after having to fight 24/7 365 for his place at Feyenoord.

Not sure I follow. Are you saying the article is mistaken? Did Romero meet another Jacob Lensky?

I just saying Jacob Lensky is in camp with the Whitecaps. According to interviews he still isn't even sure he's ready to be a full-time professional again.
Not even taking into account that unless Seattle offers him a 6-figure pay deal to make him one of the highest paid players on the team, that Vancouver would be able to pay him more because of MLS salary cap rules.

He is reported to be attending Sounders training camp for the first time tomorrow morning. No word on a signing but he has apparently been at Whitecaps training camp for most of the week. He would be a phenomenal pickup for either team, but prolly wont stay long stateside with his pedigree and a Feyenoord team trying to figure out why they cancelled his contract in September at his request.
I guess this gets settled tomorrow when he reports to train in someone's camp? Jose is on top of it.

I'd imagine you'll either have an answer there before noon PT tomorrow, or a press release from one of the two teams.

He didn't really have a Pedigree with Feyenoord, he only played once.
If he has a pedigree, it is coming up through the Celtic youth system.
Also, I concede I was mistaken. He does in fact seem to be on trial at Seattle now.

I agree, 1 first team appearance. But came from the Celtic youth system striaght into the first team at Feyenoord - not bad at all. And I didnt say he had a "Feyenoord pedigree" I said with "his pedigree" - i.e. Canada U-20s and U-23s, Celtic and Blackburn Youth - that he wont be stateside long.
Does anyone know if Feyenoord still have rights to him or something? How does that work?

From what I understand Feyenoord agreed to terminate his contract. If so, it is no different than when NBA, MLB, or NHL player is bought out. They are free agents.

I think that Feyenoord has only the block build in for him to return to Europe within a few years without a transfer fee.

Now I'm hearing that Seattle Offered him a contract and he turned it down. Either they were trying to low-ball him, or he was only using the trial to get into game shape for the Whitecaps pre-season.
