Jerome Boateng has played 112 minutes only this season and isn't quite one of Jol's favourites, he seems to be fifth choice in the fullback position after Demel, Atouba, Jansen, Benjamin (actually, Jol even played Mathijsen as LB this week-end, so he really doesn't trust Boateng or Aogo much).
Other youngsters hadn't really featured at all under Jol before this week-end, which is why there is reportedly some disquiet among them - after all, the club previously intended to succeed through player development rather than be a big player like Schalke & Bayern. There might well be a further exodus of youngsters.
Maybe dropping from the top spot will be a chance for squad development.

Jol is a guy who trusts his vets, although he did play Aaron Lennon (who I call the English Odonkor) a bit at Spurs, didn't he??
If there is an exodus of youngsters from HSV, there will be lines forming for the chance to sign Boateng, Aogo and Sidney Sam (although he's on loan at FCK......)

I hate teams like Hoffenheim. A team not working itself up like every usaul team, but just money being pumped into it making it artificially good.
 Sounds like bitterness after a 3-0 thumping. Artificially good & not working themselves up? How can that be... they got promoted didn't they? They're obviously getting the results on the field against most of the clubs below them aren't they? Last time I checked you can't just buy a result or place in the table (unless we're talking about Serie A ;)) No matter how much money they're backed by they still have to function as a team and go out and get results.
It's not like they're a team loaded with superstars either... quite a few young players that are clicking well. I'll take a Hoffenheim any day over seeing Bayern at the top of the heap as usual. Then again what are you worried about... Hoffenheim lost to Bremen & Leverkusen and have yet to play other big clubs like Schalke & Bayern.

It maybe bitterness.
But in the end of the day, the club belongs to one of the owners of a big company called SAP. Whilst they were in league 2, they bought a brazilian youth international player for 7million euros. They spent about 18 million euro whilst during that time. That's more spending than us. Imagine Abramovich buying a club like Carlisle United instead of Chelsea, that's what it is in my eyes.
On the other hand though, it's still good that the owner bought the club on a recreational basis unlike Malcolm Glazer. Who bought ManU to make money. :D

Yes he's been diving all over the place today, but it's actually the first time this season IMHO that he's switched back into that mode, before that he was a reformed man.

Alex Silva was pretty impressive in defensive midfield yesterday, while Aogo did a good job as a leftback. That leaves only Jansen and Thiago Neves as the newcomers who still need to settle in properly.

Well, it's hardly a dive when even the opponent (Hitzlsperger) says that you can give a penalty for that and that he made a stupid mistake
Jarolim is not a diver, never has been, never will be. Rafael van der Vaart was a diver, so were a few other players. Divers are people who fall without contact, Jarolim falls easily, sometimes very easily, but there is always contact. There is a huge difference between the two. Neither is good, but divers are worse.
Would love to see things like that stop as well, but seeing how the federations don't really care about that and how many true divers there are, chances are rather slim to see it happen.
It's not like Stuttgart fared much better, they tried to get a few penalties as well (not counting the times they were falling down, they really need to stop making the field all that wet all the time), not to mention that they had three tackles from behind with no chance of getting the ball. Something like that was supposed to be a red card and red card only. By now, you are lucky if it gets a red card every 20th or 30th attempt.
Then you see stuff like the ridiculous offside goals for Bayern and Hertha, which, for some incredible stupid reason aren't offside anymore, even though they are prime examples of what offside is about. Or Hoffenheim's penalty, where the forward stopped caring about the ball. As obvious as an offensive foul can get, yet he got a penalty.

No. Except perhaps it's more difficult to trick the ref without contact.

Hitzlsperger also said that is was frustrating because Jarolim always goes down and he didn't begin to fall until well after the force of the contact (not that there actually was any) was felt. It was a dive. You guys won and nobody is trying to take it from you, but Jarolim is a diver's diver and there is no reason not to acknowledge it. There was not enough contact in the play to cause him to fall and that is a dive.

Dude, I've followed this guy since FCN picked him up from Bayern Amateurs.
"Diver" is the first thing I think of when someone brings up his name.
"Effective" is the second thing, so don't think I just don't like him or anything like that.
But he is what he is.

LOOOL.
Even my brother, a FCN fan, considered him to be one of the worst BL divers when he still played for Nuremberg. I think that tells you enough...
Jarolim might have bettered himself lately (after all the criticism he got) ... but still goes down like a barrier when he enters the box and gets slightly touched!

I like the depth of our squad. Especially I hope Aogo will make sure I don't ever have to see Marcell Jansen again.

Ah yes, someone who has seen him ages ago surely knows better...
I love how everyone is accusing Jarolim of diving, yet when he runs through three people without falling down even though they all fouled him, no one comments on it. It's disgraceful how someone gets a reputation as a diver when he more often than not fights through fouls.
If you can't acknowledge that he gets fouled all the time and often still fights through it, you have no right to call him a diver either, period.
What's even worse are the players who dive themselves and tend to hack down everything that moves. Those guys are the last people on earth who should complain about someone else being unfair.
Yet another poor effort against Dortmund. The first half was someone acceptable, the second half was a continuation of all the recent homegames. Every game, the simply stop playing in the second half if they have the lead. It doesn't happen on the road, because they simply never get the lead, but it's getting increasingly worse at home. This cost so many points under Doll and Stevens...
