If I'm not mistaken, this kicker article says it's going to happen too. (http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/382210/)
Yeah, it's looking good (assuming the player is good) but I'm not so sure about Hendrik's figures (50% of the rights).
On the other hand, Bild is a Hamburg newspaper and the supervisory board is notoriously chatty, so the figures may be right.
Things change quickly though, leftback Monzón suddenly might be heading to Betis, leaving us with Atouba for another year.

Foreign press still mentions HSV in connection with Thiago Neves who has now come to Europe to finalise his move, but I guess HSV is neither more appealing than ManCity or Atlético Madrid in this case nor intends to outbid those.

The first trophy of the year hasn't yet been posted:

Emirates Cup Winner 2008: HSV
Significant step up already - purely aesthetically speaking - from last year's UI Cup trophy. Still room for improvement, though.

Man, if only I had known, VfB's already won a title! :D

HSV management really seems to be after Thiago Neves, a Brazilian TV station says Atlético and HSV have made offers. Sporting director Beiersdorfer and the team doc are in Brazil and speculation was they'd like to bring another Brazilian apart from Alex Silva.

Isn't it that only UI cup winners are the ones who advance farthest in the UEFA Cup? I remember Newcastle winning it a few years ago and their fans went wild :D

I think that's pretty cool. Too bad it's going away. :(

Marcell Jansen joins Hamburg (http://www.hsv.de/index.php?id=24224)
That's good for him and the national team. I also welcome the idea of having more German quality players on the team, but I thought the team could have needed a the creative midfielder they were talking about more.

This confirms (http://www.morgenpost.de/sport/hertha/article866278/HSV_verhindert_Conca_Transfer_zu_Hertha.html) that Beiersdorfer is or perhaps (after the Jansen deal) rather was trying to get Thiago Neves

Berliner Morgenpost has edited its article, it now states the supervisory board approved not only a Jansen, but also a Thiago Neves deal.
BILD (http://www.bild.de/BILD/sport/fussball/bundesliga/vereine/hsv/2008/08/27/marcell-jansen/wechselt-fuer-acht-millionen-nach-hamburg.html) has it as well.
Thiago Neves coming to Hamburg!

Welt (http://www.welt.de/sport/fussball/article2361248/Marcell-Jansen-wechselt-vom-FC-Bayern-zum-HSV.html) has all the details, looks like it's really just the signature missing with Thiago Neves.
Silva + Jansen + Neves = (awesome)^2
That's what I mean with "Projekt 4"(th championship) :D

I actually contacted a few German websites and papers this morning telling them that HSV was definitely very seriously after Thiago Neves, because there were tons of indications that were perfectly fitting together in the puzzle but it hadn't been written anywhere in the German press. I didn't give them all the details though, expecting they would do a bit of journalism themselves. Yet none of them put the puzzle together.
Proves to you any random fool like me can do a better job than sports journalists.
Edit: Haha, and now after the official news is out they (papers) get back to me and thank me for the hint :)

And in the case of Borussia Dortmund, better than club management too! LOL!! :D
I've been doing that for years now. It helps having been on their side too. ;)

This move really surprised me, considering the amount of cash Bayern had paid for him 2 years ago. How much do they get from HSV?
