Besides the Petric transfer, multiple names of midfielders of pretty decent quality (http://www.lance.com.br/clubes/FLUMINENSE/noticias/08-08-16/362458.stm?hamburgo-esse-e-o-destino-de-thiago-neves) seem to be floating around, so I guess it's not unrealistic to expect more good news within the next two weeks, even if the final name will be a different one.

ye i have also read about of hsv brining in niko kranjcar..i dont think portsmouth will let him go unless they really need money which some say may be the case..

Yes, that was apart from Thiago Neves and another guy whose name I can't remember right now one of the names I read. It was said HSV would offer 8m Euros (which sounds realistic as to how much money might be available), but then I read Portsmouth supposedly just rejected a 12m Euros or Pounds offer from Monaco...
With Olic, Petric and Kranjcar we'd need a fan liaison office in Zagreb I imagine.

He's a guy we hate to lose, but apparently once he heard HSV wanted him, he wanted to join you guys.
I cannot blame him for that.
No hard feelings at all from this BVB fan. This deal could be beneficial to both clubs although at this time it seems a hell of a lot more beneficial to you guys than to us. :cool:
As I've told others, I may even get a HSV jersey with Petric's name and number........

Guerrero hasn't been the Guerrero we seen last season, maybe some competition will put him back on form. Good buy by Hamburg btw

Apparently management has definitely bought a new left-back now, Fabián Monzón from Boca Juniors, should be in the European press soon.

Official: Vincent Kompany will be a Manchester City player.
I guess that means two more deals will happen :eek: Not sure about hectic rushes in late August.
Monzón still has to agree personal terms.

Should have been a bit more, especially with ManCity. I hoped it was a smart plan and not the hectic sale of a sulky player.
Let's see what happens next.
Edit: Kicker being the source for the figure, I doubt it. The article says HSV "accepted a lucrative offer", which confirms the writer has no clue what he's writing about. 13.5m according to lesser English sources. That would be more tempting.

Ok, I think I've got it now, Kicker says 8.5m, Bild says 8m + 2m (if successful), English sources say 13.7m Euros (which is about 10.5m Pounds -> likely currency mixup).
Tells me it's 8.5m + 2m if successful (=10.5m), just about what everyone could have expected.

Really hoped Kompany would stay with Hamburg, pull everything together, and have a great season. Won't be happy to see him in a City shirt.

The Kompany move isn't really a surprise. I think Jol is getting rid of anyone who isn't "all HSV."
I hate to see a talent like that leave the Bundesliga, but I think this might be a good thing for HSV in the end.
BTW, I don't think I've told you guys, but I hope Petric kicks ass for HSV.
None of us BVB fans were thrilled with the deal, but some of us are thrilled for Petric because this is what he wanted.

I really hope Hamburg signs Thiago Neves, his only 23 years old but has an amazing shot and dribble skills. it would be hard tho considering many top europe teams are after him.

My guess is that with Monzón coming at 5m and Atouba rather staying, a centre back and a midfielder in the range of 5m each are much more realistic.

Apparently the Alex Silva deal is as good as done. 6,5 million for 50% of his transfer rights.
And the Kranjcar rumors are heating up again.
