Congrats Stellinger (;)), you made the North proud tonight. Although, to be perfectly honest, I would have prefered a draw, for obvious reasons. Still, good show tonight, this year it looks like you really are going to challenge for the title.

Whenever I think they may be able to contend, they usually blow it against inferior teams  ;)
Apparently Neves is about to be sold. At least that were the latest rumours. Perhaps they didn't like his behaviour after telling him that he had to stay.
I would have preferred it, if he had gotten more of a chance. He hardly got to play real minutes in the first half of the season. He didn't even get a real chance in the last friendlies. Against Rostock he played about 15 minutes, when it was a prime chance to give him (almost) a full game.

Only 6 months or so ago Neves was prob the most in demand player in Brazil, now he's struggling to get a game in a friendly or make the bench.
Looks as if Jol has lost faith in him.

I am not getting overexcited about our chances to be title contenders, we still lack what Thiago Neves was supposed to add to the team.
I have to agree that Jol could have done a bit more to integrate him, but now it seems like he's furious at HSV, if that is so, please sell.
Good to see Jansen play decent football, apparently he's been doing that consistently after the winter break.

Yeah, telling the press that you have lost interest in playing football definately isn't the way to go. Jol isn't someone who takes such comments lightly, I guess that's one of the reasons why he wasn't even on the bench.
I'd definately see it as punishment, because even with him not being accustomed, he definately is a better first team option than Ben Hatira or Torun. If an injured Alex Silva gets to sit on the bench ahead of him, that's very telling...

HSV loans out Tomas Rincon, the Venezuelan international as the replacement for De Jong. If he impresses, you can buy him for 3 million euros.
Actually you've signed two. Mickael Tavares from Slavia Prague for 2 million euros. The Cape Verde international is also a defensive midfielder.

Considering that we're earning 27m by selling de Jong and Thiago Neves (likely) and that this could be a crucial season in which we should genuinely contend for a CL spot, these are disappointing transfers.
The asking prices for all those bigger names HSV management was interested in are just as "ridiculous" as the sum which we got for de Jong. Maybe a few more months of recession will make people come to their senses...

Guerrero scored against Karlsruhe (7th minute), 1-0 HSV.

Lost 3-2 to Karlsruhe and Petric got a red card.
Avoidable but not undeserved, happens if you think the rest of the season is a cakewalk.

Pretty annoying that last goal. Would have been happy with a draw, though.

Petric got two matches for that red card. I think the club is appealing the ruling.
I thought Englehardt went down pretty quickly and easily myself.

We've looked sharp basically in every game since Christmas. Too bad that slip-up in Karlsruhe happened.

It might have been a good thing. Congrats on a hard-fought victory today.

Congrats on the Tabellenführung, well deserved. Good match today, and two great goals by Jansen who was on fire. Without the defensive responsibilities of a fullback, he can finally show his strenghts on his ideal position, the LM. In this form, definitely an alternative for the national team (for the left midfield).
