Schalke lost to Hannover today (0-1). How long before both Rutten and Müller get the sack?

Who can predict that?
As much as I love Schalke the club seems completly devoid of leadership for the last couple of months. I liked Müller a lot but I'm losing more and more my faith in him.
Schalke did play pretty good, but missed many chances. Hannover's goal was a complete freak occurance, no way Pinto knew what he was doing or that he will ever be able to do it again.
I'm not sure if it is the incompetence of Schalke's forwards or more a sign of the lack of creativity in the midfield, but the offense is nervewrecking. Probably a bit of both, the forwards need too many chances and the midfield can't build up enough pressure to produce high quality chances regularly.

Ernst off to Besiktas?
Wow, I certainly did not expect this.

Well, it's "Not gegen Elend" next week. May the worse team lose...

Wondering whether Schalke would accept a loan+ buying option for Kuranyi. Everton are reportedly interested in a last minute deal for him.

Looks like Kuranyi wanted to leave in the winter break, as Müller confirms, but the club did not allow him to. Kuranyi is 'hurt' about the fact that the Schalke fans still don't accept him, and continue to boo him.

Hilarious! Hackers had manipulated the official Schalke website during the Germany - Norway international match, claiming that Kuranyi had left Schalke. BILD were fooled by this and actually published an article on their website. It has been removed now. :D

Absolutely amazing goal by Kuranyi tonight, goal of the month material. Who would have thought that he could still score like that?

Didn't see the game, so thanx for the vid. Wow, what a goal!! Was that really Kuranyi? ;) But what amateurs were the 2 Dortmund players to allow Altintop the crossball from that position...
Btw: Where are the Schalke fans of this board these days?

Repeating myself: How long before Müller and Rutten get the sack?
Schalke have been knocked out of the Pokal by Mainz. Can't see them both surviving there much longer. The only way for Schalke to qualify for Europe now is through the league.

Are you kidding me . . . Mainz 05 1-0 Schalke 04.
Herr Rutten - You may unlock your seat belt and depart the cabin door first. Watch your step . . . it's a AHHHHHHH!!!!!!
He's toast. I give him until tomorrow morning and surely they will bring back the co-managers that finished last season after Slomka's forced departure.
I think they should have kept Ralf Rangnick and gotten rid of Assauer sooner. Schalke 04 manager is a thankless job. Great side, great fans and management that has it's head so far up their collective arses that you wonder how they make money hand over fist! I pity the fans. They deserve better.

It was one of the dumbest ideas in years I have seen to fire Slomka. After what he did last, seriously?

Terrible season for Schalke. Somehow they can't cope with the pressure ... and that's what I expected at the beginning of this season (I think that Fred Rutten made a mistake to take this job - but well, at least he gets paid very well:-).
Btw: What an amateurish defending in the 0:1 scene just 2 minutes before the end of the game.:rolleyes:

Well, it seems that the Fußballgott is punishing them for that sin (the same with Nürnberg after sacking HM). :-))

I really do feel bad for this team though, they have no structure now as well. They have a lot of quality and potential and had the structure with Slomka, which is what made them such a hard, hard team to beat. For me before he was fired, they had as an overall defense one of the best in Europe. Now they have nothing, a confused team that used to play a certain tactic yet is trying to play something that the new coach wants, yet it hasn't even been implemented properly.

You guys need some stability. It's time to keep a coach for a while, but can Müller for buying so many overrated players. I would, at least.
